A Longitudinal Assessment of Racial and Ethnic Inequities in Food Environment Exposure and Retail Market Concentration
CONCLUSION: U.S. food policies must address disparities in neighborhood food environments and foster a healthy, profitable, equitable, and sustainable food system. Our findings may inform equity-oriented neighborhood, land use, and food systems planning. Identifying priority areas for investment and policy interventions is essential for equity-oriented neighborhood planning.PMID:37326127 | DOI:10.1017/S1368980023001179 (Source: Public Health Nutrition)

The Impact of Sodium Reduction on Overall Nutrient Content in Child and Adult Care Food Program Meals
CONCLUSIONS: This study demonstrates that sodium content can be reduced in CACFP meals without compromising the nutritional quality of meals served. Future studies are needed to identify feasible best practices and policies to reduce sodium content in the CACFP meal pattern.PMID:37317033 | DOI:10.1017/S1368980023001167 (Source: Public Health Nutrition)

Association of dietary oxidative balance score and sleep duration with the risk of mortality: prospective study in a representative US population
CONCLUSIONS: Our study observed that higher DOBS was associated with lower all-cause mortality, and this association appeared to be stronger among short sleepers. This study provides nutritional guidelines for improving health outcomes in adults, especially for short sleepers.PMID:37309207 | DOI:10.1017/S1368980023001155 (Source: Public Health Nutrition)

Choice architecture interventions promoting sustained healthier food choice and consumption by students in a secondary school setting: A systematic review of intervention studies
CONCLUSIONS: This review found promising evidence that CAI can be effective in encouraging favorable food choices in healthy adolescents in a secondary school setting. However, further studies designed to evaluate complex interventions are needed.PMID:37293811 | DOI:10.1017/S1368980023001118 (Source: Public Health Nutrition)

Comparison of foods and beverages served and consumed in CACFP- participating childcare centers to national guidelines
CONCLUSIONS: Children were served quantities of foods/beverages mostly consistent with CACFP portion size requirements, but had sub-optimal intake relative to DGAs. More research is needed to help children consume healthy diets in childcare.PMID:37288521 | DOI:10.1017/S136898002300109X (Source: Public Health Nutrition)

Local contextual factors of child stunting found via shared values of stakeholder groups: an exploratory case study in Kaffrine, Senegal
CONCLUSIONS: Local contextual factors were identified. Pre-knowledge of these could significantly improve effectiveness of intervention designs locally, with possible applicability at other sites. The WeValue_InSitu approach proved efficient and useful for making tangible contextual factors and their potential links to stunting, via a lens of local shared values, showing general promise for intervention research.PMID:37288526 | DOI:10.1017/S1368980023001088 (Source: Public Health Nutrition)
