Behavioral changes after psychiatric genetic counseling: an exploratory study
Conclusion: This exploratory study provides data to support that through addressing emotions associated with perceived cause of illness and facilitating understanding of etiology and risk-reducing strategies, PGC may lead to an increase in behaviors, which protect mental health. Human-centered design study to inform traceback cascade genetic testing programs at three integrated health systems
Conclusion: Participants were open to receiving information about traceback genetic testing and recognized its value. Participants preferred discussing genetic testing with a trusted clinician. Directed communication was preferable to passive communication. Other valued information included how genetic tests help their family and the cost of genetic testing. These findings are informing traceback cascad e genetic testing programs at all three sites. (Source: Public Health Genomics)

Predictors of Women ’s Intentions to Communicate Updated Genetic Test Results to Immediate and Extended Family Members
Conclusion: Attitudes and subjective norms were predictors of intention to communicate updated genetic information to at-risk biological relatives, and predictors may vary by degree of relationship.Public Health Genomics 2023;26:24 –34 (Source: Public Health Genomics)

Is Habitual Dietary Intake of Fats Associated with Apelin Gene Expression in Visceral and Subcutaneous Adipose Tissues and Its Serum Levels in Obese Adults?
Conclusion: High Apelin gene expression was associated with TFA intake in obese subjects in both fat tissues. However, habitual intake of PUFA and n-3 FA was associated with Apelin gene expression in obese and nonobese individuals. Our results indicate a determinative role of the quality and quantity of FA intake on adipose tissue.Public Health Genomics 2023;26:16 –23 (Source: Public Health Genomics)

Integrating Genomics into the Care of People with Palliative Needs: A Global Scoping Review of Policy Recommendations
Background: Genomics has growing relevance to palliative care, where testing largely benefits relatives. Integrating genomics into palliative care has not received the critical attention it requires. Health professionals report a lack of policy guidance to support them to overcome practice barriers to identify palliative patients who are eligible for genetic testing, provide genetic counselling, and facilitate genetic testing or DNA storage.Summary: To identify policy recommendations related to (1) integrating genomics into the care of patients with palliative care needs and their families and (2) care of the family unit, ...

SUMMARY: To identify policy recommendations related to: (1) integrating genomics into the care of patients with palliative care needs and their families, and (2) care of the family unit, we performed a scoping review of palliative care and genomic policies. Two of 78 policies recommended ...

Genetic Variants in < b > < i > MIR3142HG < /i > < /b > Contribute to the Predisposition of IgA Nephropathy in a Chinese Han Population
Conclusions: Our study firstly indicated that rs17057846 and rs58747524 inMIR3142HG contributed to the elevated risk for IgAN in a Chinese Han population. These results might provide a new insight for the molecular mechanism in the progression of IgAN.Public Health Genomics 2022;25:209 –219 (Source: Public Health Genomics)

The Joint Public Health Impact of Family History of Diabetes and Cardiovascular Disease among Adults in the United States: A Population-Based Study
Conclusion: Over 44% of the US adult population has a family history of CVD and/or diabetes that is comparable in risk to common cardiometabolic risk factors. This wide presence of high-risk family history and its simplicity of ascertainment suggests that clinical and public health efforts should collect and act on joint family history of CVD and diabetes to improve population efforts in the prevention and early detection of these common chronic diseases.Public Health Genomics 2022;25:220 –231 (Source: Public Health Genomics)
