Dispositional Optimism and All-Cause Mortality in Older Adults: A Cohort Study
Conclusions
We observed no independent relationship between optimism and all-cause mortality in the total sample, although optimism seemed to be associated with lower risk among the oldest old (adults 77 years and older). (Source: Psychosomatic Medicine)

A Longitudinal Evaluation of Goal-Striving Stress and Sleep Duration Among African Americans in the Jackson Heart Study

SITAgliptin for Depressive Symptoms in Type 2 Diabetes: A Feasibility Randomized Controlled Trial
Conclusions
Repositioning of oral hypoglycemic therapy for depressive symptoms in T2D is feasible. However, in this unpowered feasibility study, we did not detect evidence of superiority of sitagliptin over placebo. The results are cautioned by the small sample size and limited treatment duration.

Sustained Attention Deficits in Adults With Juvenile-Onset Type 1 Diabetes Mellitus
Conclusions
Adults with juvenile-onset T1DM have sustained attention deficits in contrast to their adult-onset counterparts, suggesting that the disease adversely affects the developing brain. Both the history of severe hypoglycemia and fasting blood glucose levels are factors associated with sustained attention impairment. Contemplative Mental Training Reduces Hair Glucocorticoid Levels in a Randomized Clinical Trial

Prenatal Maternal Bereavement and Its Association With Intellectual Disability in the Offspring

A Longitudinal Exploration of Self-Reported Hearing Loss, Tinnitus, and Posttraumatic Stress Disorder Treatment Outcomes in Australian Veterans
Conclusions
Although self-reported tinnitus and hearing loss are prevalent among veterans, those with severe hearing impairments are unlikely to be represented in this context. There is a need for psychological treatments that are accessible to patients with severe hearing impairments, which should be examined routinely among military members accessing psychological treatments. Chronic Stress Burden, Visceral Adipose Tissue, and Adiposity-Related Inflammation: The Multi-Ethnic Study of Atherosclerosis
Conclusions
Greater chronic stress burden is associated with both central and subcutaneous adiposity. We found no evidence that the associations between VAT and inflammatory biomarkers are exacerbated by chronic stress.
