The Effect of Bright Light Therapy on Sleep and Quality of Life in Patients With Poststroke Insomnia
This study was randomized, double blind, and placebo controlled. A 2-week trial was conducted on patients with mild-to-moderate stroke who had poststroke insomnia. Only patients who had experienced a first episode of stroke were enrolled in this study. Sleep parameters were measured using the Actiwatch Spectrum Pro for 7 days before and after light therapy. The instrument specifically collected data concerning sleep, mood state, fatigue, and subjective quality of life. Prospective Associations of Leisure-Time Physical Activity With Psychological Distress and Well-Being: A 12-Year Cohort Study
Conclusions
Our findings highlight the role of leisure-time physical activity in psychological distress and well-being, with greater effect sizes associated with higher frequency and intensity of leisure-time physical activity. Future interventions should consider examining potential mediators of the association of leisure-time physical activity with psychological well-being, such as body mass index. Examination of the Allostatic Load Construct and Its Longitudinal Association With Health Outcomes in the Boston Puerto Rican Health Study
Conclusions
AL scores computed with clinical-based cutoffs performed robustly in our sample of mainland Puerto Ricans, whereas z scores did not predict disease and disability. AL-select was the most consistent predictor, supporting its use as a disease-predicting model. Future assessment of AL-select in other populations may help operationalize AL. This study aimed to assess the association of bipolar disorder (BD) with risk of major adverse cardiac events (MACEs) after adjusting for established cardiovascular disease (CVD) risk factors.

Psychobiological Mechanisms in Somatic Symptom Disorder and Depressive Disorders: An Ecological Momentary Assessment Approach
We examined the associations between NPF and somatic symptoms in the daily life of women with SSD or DD and investigated the mediating role of psychobiological stress responses.
Methods
Twenty-nine women with SSD and 29 women with DD participated in an ecological momentary assessment study. For 14 days, intensity of and impairment by somatic symptoms, NPF, and stress-related biological measures (cortisol, alpha-amylase) were assessed five times per day using an electronic device and saliva samples. Network Analysis of Persistent Somatic Symptoms in Two Clinical Patient Samples
Conclusions
This work is the first to estimate the structure of PSS using network analysis. A next step could be first to replicate our findings before translating them into clinical practice. Second, results may be useful for generating hypotheses to be tested in future studies, and the results open new opportunities for a better understanding for etiology, prevention, and intervention research.
