Systematic Review and Meta ‐Analysis of Reported Adverse Events of Long‐term Intranasal Oxytocin Treatment for Autism Spectrum Disorder
Abstract Recent studies suggested oxytocin as a possible drug to treat social deficits caused by Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), but the safety of intranasal oxytocin in autistic patients is not established. The aim of this review was to characterise the side effect profile of long‐term intranasal oxytocin in treatment of ASD compared to placebo. All randomised controlled trials of intranasal oxytocin in the treatment of ASD published before 1 January 2017 that reported safety data were identified from databases including Pubmed, Embase, Cochrane Library, and International Pharmaceutical Abstract. Relevant data from the ...

Mutations of the Glycine Cleavage System Genes Possibly Affect the Negative Symptoms of Schizophrenia through Metabolomic Profile Changes
ConclusionsThese results suggest that GCS rare variants possibly contribute to the pathophysiology of SCZ by affecting the negative symptoms through elevation of aspartate. (Source: Psychiatry and Clinical Neurosciences)

Exercise habit could modulate cognitive benefits from physical and cognitive intervention
Abstract Elderly population increase worldwide has driven investigation into physical fitness advantages for cognitive ability1,2. Randomized controlled trials could validate exercise regime targeting specific domains to improve Executive Function (EF) and working memory (WM). (Source: Psychiatry and Clinical Neurosciences)

The Relationship between Anxious Temperament and Harm Avoidance in Medical Students and Staffs
ConclusionThese findings support our hypothesis and suggest that anxious temperament may have “depressive proneness” whereas harm avoidance may have “passive proneness”. (Source: Psychiatry and Clinical Neurosciences)

Identification of somatic mutations in postmortem human brains by whole genome sequencing and their implications for psychiatric disorders
ConclusionOur developed filtering and validation approaches will be useful to identify somatic mutations in the human brain. The vulnerability of neuron‐expressed genes to mutational events suggests their potential relevance to neuropsychiatric diseases. (Source: Psychiatry and Clinical Neurosciences)
