Racial Disparities in Clozapine Prescription Patterns Among Patients With Schizophrenia
CONCLUSIONS: Black patients with schizophrenia had a lower likelihood of receiving a clozapine prescription compared with White patients, even after analyses accounted for demographic variables, social determinants of health, and care access patterns. Given the effectiveness of clozapine in managing treatment-resistant schizophrenia, it is crucial for future research to better understand the factors contributing to this treatment disparity.PMID:38500451 | DOI:10.1176/appi.ps.20230226 (Source: Psychiatric Services)

The Need to Adapt the Psychiatric Clinical Assessment to the Digital Age: A Practical Approach
Psychiatr Serv. 2024 Mar 13:appips20230399. doi: 10.1176/appi.ps.20230399. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTThe use of electronic devices and social media is becoming a ubiquitous part of most people's lives. Although researchers are exploring the sequelae of such use, little attention has been given to the importance of digital media use in routine psychiatric assessments of patients. The authors propose a framework for psy...
