Impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on primary care delivery in a remote Aboriginal community
This study has highlighted that there is a risk of underutilisation of primary healthcare services during a health pandemic in remote settings. Strengthening the primary care system to adequately provide ongoing services during natural disasters requires further consideration to reduce the risk of long-term impacts of service disengagement.PMID:37201947 | DOI:10.1071/PY23026 (Source: Primary Care)

Implementing an Innovative Lipid Management Technique Using siRNA LDL-C Lowering Therapy: Lessons Learned in an NHS Primary Care Practice With Worked Case Examples
CONCLUSIONS: Enhanced lipid management as a secondary prevention measure is achievable in line with national guidance and objectives. The methodology and education/training processes used in combination with reconstructing the management process can help practice staff realize the program benefits, which in turn can lead to a shift in behavior where all staff embed manual case-finding of high-risk patients into everyday consultations and reviews; enabling rapid identification of eligible patients. Taking a multi-disciplinary, holistic approach to new initiatives reduces service burden, particularly for GPs. Leveraging reso...

Association between effect of acceptance of illness and medication adherence, metabolic control, and risk of diabetic foot in individuals with diabetes
CONCLUSIONS: The study found that the level of acceptance of illness was associated with the level of knowledge about medication adherence, metabolic control, and risk of diabetic foot in individuals with diabetes. It may be recommended to conduct clinical trials to determine the effect of evaluating the level of acceptance of the illness on diabetes management and to increase this level.PMID:37193617 | DOI:10.1016/j.pcd.2023.05.003 (Source: Primary Care)

Influencing factors of interprofessional collaboration in multifactorial fall prevention interventions: a qualitative systematic review
CONCLUSIONS: This review provides a comprehensive summary of findings on interprofessional collaboration, specifically in the context of multifactorial FPIs. Knowledge in this area is considerably relevant given the multifactorial nature of falls, which demands an integrated, multidomain approach, including both health and social care. The results can be utilized as a fundament for developing effective implementation strategies aiming to improve interprofessional collaboration between health and social care professionals working in multifactorial FPIs in the community.PMID:37193995 | PMC:PMC10186662 | DOI:10.1186/s12875-02...
