Associations between Personality Structure, Psychodynamic Conflicts and Defense Styles in Adolescents with Mental Health Problems
CONCLUSIONS: Theory-compliant correlations were demonstrated. The findings are particularly relevant against the background of the revision of the classification of personality functioning (ICD-11) in childhood and adolescence.PMID:38580307 | DOI:10.1055/a-2255-3572 (Source: PPmP Psychotherapie Psychosomatik Medizinische Psychologie)

Toward Cultural Scripts of Trauma Sequelae
DISCUSSION: The illustrative results presented here demonstrate the galaxy model and the suitability of the cultural script concept for recording the effects of trauma. There are differences and similarities in the two world regions examined so far. Further steps at the two study sites will be the temporal connections and the relationships to value orientations. The studies will be started at the other study sites in the following years.PMID:38580308 | DOI:10.1055/a-2276-4992 (Source: PPmP Psychotherapie Psychosomatik Medizinische Psychologie)

Social Determinants of Mental Health among Refugees in Germany - The Influence of Postmigratory Social Isolation and Resources on Psychopathology and Utilization Behavior
Psychother Psychosom Med Psychol. 2024 Apr 5. doi: 10.1055/a-2255-3913. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTThe mental health of refugees is influenced by a variety of pre-, peri- and postmigratory factors. It remains largely unclear how social determinants influence the utilization of psychiatric-psychotherapeutic treatment. We applied a questionnaire survey to 189 refugees from a clinical sample in a psychiatric hospital and from a control sample, which was not in treatment. The influence of social factors on psychopathology and utilization of care was analyzed by means of a CHAID algorithm. The total sample was highly stresse...

Psychother Psychosom Med Psychol. 2024 Mar;74(3-04):103-111. doi: 10.1055/a-2250-5405. Epub 2024 Mar 29.ABSTRACTThe negative attitude of psychotherapists towards the treatment of older patients in the past has weakened in the recent past. Nevertheless, the question remains as to how therapists perceive older patients in comparison to younger patients, what clinical judgements they arrive at and how they perceive the relationship with them. Spectrum of Complex Partial Performance Disorders in Patients with Mental Illnesses
CONCLUSIONS: Patients with mental illness reported a heterogeneous pattern of minimal cerebral dysfunctions. These frequent disorders should be recognized in diagnostics and treatment. Further studies should investigate therapeutic approaches for MCD according to Baltes' Selective Optimization and Compensation model.PMID:38552617 | DOI:10.1055/a-2244-7547 (Source: PPmP Psychotherapie Psychosomatik Medizinische Psychologie)
