[Validation of a German-Language Version of the Multidimensional Offline and Online Peer Victimization Scale (MOOPV) in Adolescent Students].
Authors: Haid-Stecher N, Exenberger S, Unterrainer C, Bliem HR, Sevecke K, Juen B Abstract Peer victimisation (PV) in childhood and adolescence can come along with psychological stress through the life span. Even though there exist a large number of questionnaires that measure PV, evidence of the use is often missing. Particularly instruments for capturing cyberbullying lack psychometric calculations such as factor analysis for investigating scales and data on validity and reliability. An exception constitutes the Multidimensional Offline and Online Peer Victimization Scale (MOOPV) of Sumter et al., which is only a...

[Interactions between Partnership Quality, Life Satisfaction and Partnership Stability of Mothers with Underage Children - A Ten-Year Follow-up Study].
CONCLUSION: This study shows bidirectional associations between relationship quality and life satisfaction over the course of 10 years. Especially life satisfaction seemed to have an impact on diverse family factors. The findings should be used to develop new or existing prevention and intervention programs for partnership, whereas life satisfaction of the individual should be spotlighted. Authors: Lehmann-Laue A, Ernst J, Mehnert A, Taubenheim S, Lordick F, Götze H Abstract OBJECTIVES: Addressing information and supportive care needs could enhance cancer survivors' ability to cope with the long-term and/or late effects of their disease. The study examines how long-term cancer survivors evaluate information received during the course of cancer and aims to identify supportive care needs. METHODS: The data were collected in a cross-sectional cancer registry cohort study including 1002 patients (participation rate 53%, five years post diagnosis n=660 (65.9%), 10 years post diagnosis n=342 (34.1...

[Remission, Response and its Prediction after Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy for Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder in an Inpatient Setting].
In this study, the therapy outcome of 799 patients was examined in the context of inpatient cognitive-behavioral psychotherapy. Yale-Brown Obsessive Compulsive Scale (Y-BOCS) was used as the central outcome measure. Therapy outcome was defined in effect sizes (ES) as well as in remission and response rates. In the pre-post comparison of Y-BOCS, the ES was 1.32. Response was classified according to two different definitions: the reliable change index (RCI) and the percental symptom improvement (PSI). The rates of response were 75.5% (RCI) and 37% (PSI). The rates of remission were 39.3% based on RCI and 32.2% based on PSI. ...

[Delayed Onset PTSD - A Problem for Diagnosis and Litigation - with Special Reference to Political Imprisonment in GDR].
Authors: Frommberger U, Frommberger H, Maercker A Abstract More often than is generally assumed: according to 2 metaanalyses, an average of about 25% of all cases of PTSD are not definitively diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) until 6 months or more after their trauma. Its prevalence varies widely depending on the given population. Delayed onset PTSD is diagnosed in military personnel much more often than in the civilian population (38,2 vs. 15,3%) . The divergence in PTSD's prevalence numbers is attributed to differences in its definition, methodology, and target population, as well as the type o...

Authors: Schlegl S, Voderholzer U, Maier J, Naab S, Lock J Abstract Family-based therapy (FBT) is currently the most evidence-based treatment for adolescents with eating disorders. The aim of this review is to summarize previous research results regarding the efficacy of the manualized FBT according to Lock and Le Grange and to report on moderators and mediators. In 5 randomized controlled trials (RCTs) in anorexia nervosa (N=560) remission rates were between 21.2-42% at end of treatment, between 21.8-40% at 6-month follow-up, and between 29-49% at 12-month follow-up. We present evidence for partial strict invariance across sex and age groups. In terms of construct validity, our analyses demonstrate strong overlap between the SOC-3 and two longer versions (-9 and -29). In addition, correlations to related constructs such as attachment styles, physical and mental health, as well as quality of life were similar between the SOC versions. For the first time, normative values for the German population are presented to allow for the classification of individual scores. He mainly worked in neuroanatomical, physiological and psychiatric fields. In a late autobiographical script, Bekhterev saw himself primarily as the protagonist of Russian research on hypnosis and hypnotherapy. Authors: Goepfert NC, Lehr K, Zillich L, von Heydendorff SC, Dreßing H, Bailer J Abstract The 16-item Self-Stigma of Depression Scale (SSDS) was developed to measure anticipated self-stigma hypothetically in case of depression. It is perfect for assessing anticipated self-stigma in community samples. However, in clinical samples measuring actual experienced instead of hypothetical self-stigma may be more appropriate. Aims of this study were the adaptation and validation of the SSDS specifically for people with depression. The abbreviation SSDS-D will be used in the following (D for depression) for this adapte...

In about 80-85% of cases there is no morphologic evidence for a possible pain etiology, hence such forms are called "non-specific back pain". Therapies with a pure focus on symptomatic aspects are not effective to treat non-specific pain. The origin of chronic back pain can be best explained via a multi causal mechanism with a combination of bio-psycho-social, biographical, neurobiological, genetic, and cognitive factors...
