Factorial analysis of the Brazilian-Portuguese version of the Work Ability Index, reproducibility and validity of the single item and the short version for online application
CONCLUSION: The reliability and construct and concurrent validity of the various versions of the WAI were strong to excellent in online applications. Confirmatory factor analysis demonstrated a new grouping of items for the WAI Brazilian version. However, it is necessary to be careful in the choice due to the distribution model of items in health domains and aspects of work.PMID:38613967 | DOI:10.1016/j.bjpt.2024.101060 (Source: Physical Therapy)

How does classification score affect falls in wheelchair basketball? A video-based cross-sectional study on the Italian national team during the European Para Championships 2023
CONCLUSION: Results reported significant differences between LPP and HPP in terms of mechanism of fall. Further studies should focus on the development of new preventive training strategies tailored to WB players with different levels of impairments to reduce fall related injuries.PMID:38614046 | DOI:10.1016/j.ptsp.2024.03.006 (Source: Physical Therapy)

Which portion of physiotherapy treatments' effect is attributable to contextual effects in people with musculoskeletal pain?: A meta-analysis of randomised placebo-controlled trials
CONCLUSION: The outcomes of physical therapy interventions for musculoskeletal pain were significantly influenced by contextual effects. Boosting contextual effects consciously to enhance therapeutic outcomes represents an ethical opportunity that could benefit patients.PMID:38602164 | DOI:10.2519/jospt.2024.12126 (Source: Physical Therapy)

How low back pain is managed-a mixed methods study in 32 countries. Part 2 of Low Back Pain in Low- and Middle-Income Countries Series
J Orthop Sports Phys Ther. 2024 Apr 11:1-42. doi: 10.2519/jospt.2024.12406. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTBACKGROUND: The Lancet Series of Low Back Pain (LBP) highlighted the lack of LBP data from low- and middle-income countries (LMICs). The study aimed to describe (1) what LBP care is currently delivered in LMICs, and (2) how that care is delivered. METHODS: An online mixed-methods study. A Consortium for LBP in LMICs (n=65) was developed with an expert panel of leading LBP researchers (>2 publications on LBP) and multidisciplinary clinicians and patient partners with five years of clinical/lived LBP experience in LMI...
