Efficacy and safety of robotic-assisted knee reconstruction: a systematic review and meta-analysis
CONCLUSIONS: The findings suggested that robotic-assisted knee reconstruction did not significantly improve functional outcomes compared to traditional surgery. The safety profile was similar except for a higher readmission rate following RATKR. Given the high heterogeneity, further large-scale, well-designed, randomized controlled trials are needed to conclusively determine the efficacy and safety of robotic-assisted hip and knee reconstruction.PMID:38567588 | DOI:10.26355/eurrev_202403_35729 (Source: Pharmacological Reviews)

Relationship of thyroid dysfunction and its manifestations in diabetes mellitus patients in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia
CONCLUSIONS: This study further proves a significant association between diabetes and hypothyroidism in Saudi Arabia. We recommend periodic screening for thyroid dysfunction in the diabetic population in specific cases; since some patients with diabetes are more likely to have hypothyroidism based on their clinical presentation.PMID:38567589 | DOI:10.26355/eurrev_202403_35730 (Source: Pharmacological Reviews)

A time-averaged serum bicarbonate-based nomogram to predict the probability of residual kidney function preservation for patients undergoing peritoneal dialysis
CONCLUSIONS: The novel predictive nomogram model can predict the probability of RKF preservation in long-term PD patients with high accuracy. Future studies are needed to externally validate the current nomogram before clinical application.PMID:38567593 | DOI:10.26355/eurrev_202403_35734 (Source: Pharmacological Reviews)

Proapoptotic effects of ceranib-2 in combination with radiation therapy on human breast cancer cells
CONCLUSIONS: The study results suggest that co-treatment of human breast adenocarcinoma cells with a ceramidase inhibitor, ceranib-2, and a high dose of radiation of 20 Gy exerted cytotoxicity and apoptosis and might be a solid, potent alternative to current therapy strategies.PMID:38567595 | DOI:10.26355/eurrev_202403_35736 (Source: Pharmacological Reviews)

Effect of perioperative "Internet + rehabilitation guidance" based on IKAP theory on short-term prognosis of patients with esophageal cancer
CONCLUSIONS: In patients with esophageal cancer, perioperative "Internet + rehabilitation guidance" based on IKAP theory can effectively shorten the postoperative gastrointestinal function recovery time and rapidly reduce the inflammatory response, improving the nutritional status of the body, thereby reducing the risk of short-term postoperative complications.PMID:38567596 | DOI:10.26355/eurrev_202403_35738 (Source: Pharmacological Reviews)

Prognostic significance of inflammation scores in malignant mesothelioma
CONCLUSIONS: Our study investigated the prognostic value of various inflammation markers in malignant mesothelioma patients and suggests that composite formulas like NLR, PIIV, SIRI, ALI, and HALP that incorporate CBC cells and nutritional parameters like albumin, height, and weight could more consistently and accurately predict malignant mesothelioma prognosis.PMID:38567597 | DOI:10.26355/eurrev_202403_35741 (Source: Pharmacological Reviews)
