Applied patient-level palliative care interventions designed to meet the needs of sexual and gender minorities: A scoping review and qualitative content analysis of how to support sexual and gender minorities at end of life
CONCLUSIONS: This review responds to a need to improve palliative care delivery for sexual and gender minorities. Recommendations derived from these interventions, including how to center and advocate for sexual and gender minorities at end of life, can be applied by any interdisciplinary palliative care provider.PMID:38062858 | DOI:10.1177/02692163231214123 (Source: Palliative Medicine)

Parents' experiences of being involved in medical decision-making for their child with a life-limiting condition: A systematic review with narrative synthesis
CONCLUSIONS: Parental experiences with decision-making are complex and multifactorial. Parents' ability to effectively participate in the process is limited, as they are not empowered to do so and the circumstances in which the decisions are taking place are challenging. Healthcare professionals need to support parental involvement in an effective way instead of just formally asking them to participate.PMID:38053373 | DOI:10.1177/02692163231214414 (Source: Palliative Medicine)

Prescribing and deprescribing in older people with life-limiting illnesses receiving hospice care at the end of life: A longitudinal, retrospective cohort study
CONCLUSIONS: In the absence of systematic rationalisation of drug treatments, a substantial proportion of older patients continued to receive potentially inappropriate medication until death.PMID:38032069 | DOI:10.1177/02692163231209024 (Source: Palliative Medicine)

The impact of regular, low-dose, sustained-release morphine for chronic breathlessness on caregiver burden: An exploratory analysis of the BEAMS trial
CONCLUSIONS: Caregivers reported high levels of caregiver burden, but patients' response to treatment in terms of their symptom and function may influence change in caregiver burden over a three-week period.PMID:37978419 | DOI:10.1177/02692163231211227 (Source: Palliative Medicine)
