Longevity and potential reusability of cardiac implantable electronic devices explanted in funeral homes
ConclusionsBased on stablished criteria 46.7% of recovered devices were considered reusable. Therefore, recovery from funeral homes of HICs comprises a potential source of reusable devices for LMICs. (Source: Pacing and Clinical Electrophysiology : PACE)

Reduction of left ventricular global longitudinal strain in patients with permanent pacemakers as a predictor of heart failure and mortality outcomes
ConclusionReduction in LV GLS was seen in nearly four in 10 patients undergoing pacemaker implantation and was significantly associated with increased RV pacing burden. LV GLS reduction was associated with increased risk of adverse outcomes. LV GLS may have utility in predicting outcomes among patients with RV pacing. The VR leadless pacemaker: Results of an expert panel using the RAND/UCLA method
ConclusionsLife expectancy, risk of infection, prosthetic valve, left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF), limitation for vascular access via the superior vena cava, and mobility and exercise capacity determine who is advised to undergo VR leadless pacemaker implantation. More prospective studies are needed to optimize existing recommendations. (Source: Pacing and Clinical Electrophysiology : PACE)

Left bundle branch pacing versus biventricular pacing for cardiac resynchronization therapy: A systematic review and meta ‐analysis
ConclusionIn HF patients, LBBP-CRT was superior to BVP-CRT in reducing HF hospitalization. Further significant benefits occurred within the LBBP-CRT group in terms of QRSd, LVEF, pacing thresholds, NYHA class and the rate of responder and super-responder patients.
