Dystonia-Causing Mutations as a Contribution to the Etiology of Spasmodic Dysphonia
Conclusion
Genetic screening targeted at currently known disease-causing mutations in TOR1A, THAP1, and TUBB4 appears to have low diagnostic yield in sporadic spasmodic dysphonia. In our cohort, only 2 patients tested positive for novel/rare variants in THAP1. Clinicians should make use of genetic testing judiciously and in cost-effective ways. Tumor Volume Predicts Survival Rate of Advanced Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma Treated with Concurrent Chemoradiotherapy
Conclusions
GTVp had significant prognostic value for patients with advanced NPC. The incorporation of GTVp could improve the current TNM classification system. (Source: Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery)

Efficacy of Elective Neck Dissection in T1/T2N0M0 Oral Tongue Squamous Cell Carcinoma: A Population-Based Analysis
Conclusion
END improves DSS versus neck observation in T1/T2N0M0 OT-SCC patients with moderately differentiated, poorly differentiated, or undifferentiated histologic grade tumors >1 cm. Those with well-differentiated tumors benefited from END only when tumor size was >2 cm. (Source: Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery)

Pretreatment Hematologic Findings as Novel Predictive Markers for Facial Palsy Prognosis
Conclusions
Pretreatment hematologic findings, which reflect the severity of inflammation and bone marrow dysfunction caused by a virus infection, are useful for predicting the prognosis of facial palsy. (Source: Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery)

Mobile Endoscopy vs Video Tower: A Prospective Comparison of Video Quality and Diagnostic Accuracy
Conclusion
With adequate power, our study was unable to demonstrate a difference between mobile adapter videos and tower videos. Our findings suggest that mobile adapter videos may reasonably be used in lieu of tower videos in clinical practice. (Source: Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery)

Retrosternal Goiter: 30-Day Morbidity and Mortality in the Transcervical and Transthoracic Approaches
Conclusions
A transthoracic approach is associated with increased rates of several critical postoperative morbidities, and the data indicate the potential of increased overall mortality. Given equivalent retrosternal extension, a transcervical approach should be attempted whenever anatomically possible, regardless of pathology. (Source: Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery)

Systematic Review and Meta-analysis of Surgical Complications following Cochlear Implantation in Canal Wall Down Mastoid Cavities
Conclusion
Overclosing the external auditory meatus at the same time of cochlear implantation leads to significantly fewer complications when compared with maintaining a canal wall down mastoid cavity with soft tissue coverage of the electrode array. (Source: Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery)
