A SEER program study of survival trends in Merkel cell carcinoma of the eyelid: 2000-2019
CONCLUSIONS: Consistent with previous reports, most patients were white, female, and age 85+.Incidence correlated with metropolitan environments and median income. While most patients did not die from MCCE, majority of recorded deaths occurred within one year of diagnosis.PMID:38032687 | DOI:10.1080/01676830.2023.2286380 (Source: Orbit)

Cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma radiographically mimicking infiltration into the lacrimal gland
Orbit. 2023 Nov 30:1-4. doi: 10.1080/01676830.2023.2287635. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTCutaneous squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) is a common malignancy of the skin, with the potential for local invasion and metastasis. Here, we present a case series of two patients with SCCs, suggesting radiological infiltration of the lacrimal gland on magnetic resonance imaging. However, histopathological examination revealed lymphoplasmacytic infiltration of the lacrimal gland consistent with dacryoadenitis, with no evidence of SCC infiltration. Our cases highlight the potential for peritumoural inflammation to cause dacryoadenitis and...
