Ocular Adnexal MALT Lymphoma in Association With Rosai–Dorfman Disease in a Child
A 12-year-old boy presented with persistent proptosis and periorbital swelling after a school altercation. MRI revealed a mass in the right superonasal orbit extending along the orbital roof to the frontal bone and right frontal sinus, and intracranially to the dura of the right frontal lobe. Immunohistochemistry revealed CD20- and CD43-positive B cells consistent with a low-grade B-cell lymphoma. The patient was diagnosed with stage I ocular adnexal MALT lymphoma and treated with radiation therapy, followed by systemic chemotherapy. However, an enhancing orbital and intracranial mass remained on follow-up imaging, leading...

Primary Synovial Sarcoma of the Orbit: A Case Report and Update on Diagnostic Techniques
We describe a 23-year-old woman who presented with a 1-year history of painful, progressive right upper eyelid swelling. She was subsequently found to have a superomedial orbital mass on CT scan. Pathologic evaluation revealed a spindle cell neoplasm with SS18 (SYT) rearrangement by fluorescence in situ hybridization studies, consistent with a monophasic synovial sarcoma. This case describes the clinical, radiographic, histopathologic, and molecular cytogenetic features of this rare orbital neoplasm, with an emphasis on the emerging diagnostic techniques and novel therapies. Clinical Presentations, Management and Outcomes of Rhino-Orbital-Cerebral Mucormycosis (ROCM) Following COVID-19: A Multi-Centric Study
Purpose: To report clinical presentations and factors affecting outcomes in rhino-orbital-cerebral mucormycosis following COVID-19. Methods: Retrospective multi-centric interventional case series of 58 eyes with rhino-orbital-cerebral mucormycosis. Demography, clinical parameters and management outcomes were noted. Factors affecting outcome and mortality were analyzed. Outcome was defined as favorable when complete resolution or stabilization without further progression of the infection was noted at last visit. Results: Mean age was 55 ± 11 years (median 56). The mean HbA1c value was 10.44 ± 2.84 mg% (m...

Management of Pediatric Acute Dacryocystitis
Conclusions: Management of pediatric acute dacryocystitis should be tailored individually for each case. Hospital admission and early surgical intervention are not mandatory, as 31% of cases resolved without admission, and 56% without early surgical intervention. Although a specific age cutoff is not plausible, hospital admission for younger patients is more commonly advocated. When surgical intervention is indicated, endonasal examination and microdebridement of any associated intranasal cyst and probing with possible stenting are the initial procedures of choice. Dacryocystorhinostomy is reserved for more complex obs...

Anti-inflammatory and Antioxidant Effects of Selenium on Orbital Fibroblasts of Patients With Graves Ophthalmopathy
Conclusions: In conclusion, hyaluronan production, inflammatory cytokines, and intracellular ROS generation were suppressed by selenium in cultured orbital fibroblasts of patients with GO. Several inflammatory cytokines may be suppressed by selenium in cultured orbital fibroblasts of patients with GO. This study provide the basis for use of selenium in the treatment of GO.
