Systemic and Ocular Manifestations of Arboviral Infections: A Review
CONCLUSION: Emerging arboviral diseases should be considered in the differential diagnosis of ocular inflammatory conditions in patients living in or returning from endemic regions. Early clinical consideration followed by confirmatory testing can limit or prevent unnecessary treatments for non-arboviral causes of ocular inflammation. Prevention of these infections is crucial.PMID:38441549 | DOI:10.1080/09273948.2024.2320724 (Source: Ocular Immunology and Inflammation)

Long-Term Low-Dose Pyrimethamine Use for the Prevention of Ocular Toxoplasmosis Recurrences: A Cohort Study
CONCLUSION: Long-term, low-dose pyrimethamine can be considered as a treatment option for the prevention of ocular toxoplasmosis recurrence in selected patients, with only a few, mild and reversible systemic adverse events.PMID:38441575 | DOI:10.1080/09273948.2024.2321270 (Source: Ocular Immunology and Inflammation)

< em > Abiotrophia defectiva < /em > Endophthalmitis Post-Keratoplasty - A Case Report and Literature Review
CONCLUSION: We emphasize aggressive treatment of external disease prior to intraocular surgery. In cases of A. defectiva endophthalmitis, we advocate judicious use of steroids.PMID:38436925 | DOI:10.1080/09273948.2024.2324142 (Source: Ocular Immunology and Inflammation)

Multimodal Imaging of Vitreo-Retinal Lymphoma: A Comprehensive Review
CONCLUSION: Diagnostic vitrectomy with cytopathological analysis remains the gold standard for VRL diagnosis, however multimodal imaging allows the identification of suggestive retinal and vitreal lesions for early suspicion, diagnosis, and treatment and monitoring disease progression and response to treatment.PMID:38436928 | DOI:10.1080/09273948.2024.2311754 (Source: Ocular Immunology and Inflammation)

Cytomegalovirus-Associated Non-Necrotizing Retinopathy, Occlusive Retinal Vasculitis, and Neovascularization
CONCLUSIONS: Non-necrotizing viral retinopathy has been associated with either varicella zoster virus (VZV) or herpes simplex virus (HSV). Our case highlights that CMV can also lead to non-necrotizing retinopathy and must be suspected in patients who may be negative for VZV and HSV. Appropriate anti-viral treatment can prevent severe vision loss in these patients.PMID:38436937 | DOI:10.1080/09273948.2024.2325054 (Source: Ocular Immunology and Inflammation)

Effect of Topical Recombinant Human Nerve Growth Factor on Corneal Epithelial Regeneration in Refractory Epithelial Keratopathy
CONCLUSIONS: Topical rhNGF was effective and safe for refractory epithelial keratopathy in our small cohort, but sustained effects were seen only in certain etiologies for up to 3 months. Further studies are needed for optimal dosing and duration based on underlying causes.PMID:38427335 | DOI:10.1080/09273948.2024.2322012 (Source: Ocular Immunology and Inflammation)
