What to report in sellar tumor MRI? A nationwide survey among German pituitary surgeons, radiation oncologists, and endocrinologists
ConclusionTo optimally address the information needs of the interdisciplinary treatment team, MRI reports of sellar masses should primarily focus on the accurate description of tumor location, size, internal structure, and involvement of adjacent anatomic compartments. (Source: Neuroradiology)

Impact of cannabis use on brain metabolism using 31P and 1H magnetic resonance spectroscopy
ConclusionThe results suggest that the increased risk of functional brain disorders observed in long-term cannabis users could be caused by an impairment of the energy metabolism of the brain, but this needs to be verified in future studies. (Source: Neuroradiology)

Assessment of magnetic field interactions and heating for cerebral aneurysm flow diverters during 7T MRI
AbstractFlow diverters (FDs) are utilized for a wide range of aneurysms, but show safety issues such as adverse interactions with static magnetic fields (displacement force and torque) and radiofrequency-induced heating during magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). The present study aimed to assess these adverse interactions in a 7-tesla (7T) static magnetic field and radiofrequency-induced heating during a 7T MRI for two types of FD. Displacement force and magnetically induced torque were assessed using the deflection angle method and low friction surface method, respectively. To assess heating, each FD was set in a phantom fi...

Association between resistance to cerebrospinal fluid flow and cardiac-induced brain tissue motion for Chiari malformation type I
ConclusionThis study establishes a relationship between CSF flow resistance in the cervical spinal canal and cardiac-induced brain tissue motion in the cerebellum for CMI subjects. Further research is necessary to understand the importance of resistance and brain tissue motion in the symptomatology of CMI. (Source: Neuroradiology)

Comparison of 1.5  T and 3 T magnetic resonance angiography for detecting cerebral aneurysms using deep learning-based computer-assisted detection software
ConclusionEIRL_an detected significantly more false-positive lesions with 3  T than with 1.5 T MRA in this external validation study. Our data may help physicians with limited experience with MRA to correctly diagnose aneurysms using EIRL_an. (Source: Neuroradiology)

Ghost twisting of the dual-layer flow-diverting stent
This study reports two cases of acute in-stent blood flow disturbances after the deployment of FRED in a patient with intracranial aneurysms associated with “ghost twisting.” In this phenomenon, the inner layer does not expand with the coning deformation, even though the outer layer is fully open. This was confirmed through high-resolution cone-beam computed tomography, but not conventional angiography. The two cases were successfully treated using balloon angioplasty and showed favorable outcomes. The structural issue of “ghost twisting” was a possible underlying factor for the ischemic complications associated wi...

Effect of mechanical thrombectomy with and without intravenous thrombolysis on the functional outcome of patients with different degrees of thrombus perviousness
ConclusionPatients with thrombi of lower perviousness were recommended to undergo intravenous alteplase followed by endovascular thrombectomy, and those with thrombi of higher perviousness could undergo thrombectomy alone. (Source: Neuroradiology)
