Effects of Subthalamic Deep Brain Stimulation With Different Frequencies in a Parkinsonian Rat Model
ConclusionSTN ‐HFS (130 Hz) and sham operation for one week can significantly improve the exercise performance of PD rats. The exercise performance of PD rats in LFS group (30 Hz) is worse compared with HFS group (130 Hz). HFS plays a role in neuroprotection and improvement of exercise performance of PD rats. M oreover, DTI can be used as an effective technique to assess the therapeutic effects and severity of PD. (Source: Neuromodulation: Technology at the Neural Interface)

Directional Deep Brain Stimulation of the Thalamic Ventral Intermediate Area for Essential Tremor Increases Therapeutic Window
ConclusionsdDBS for ET widens therapeutic window due to reduction of therapeutic threshold. Larger volume of neural activation for dDBS at side effect threshold supports the notion of persistent directionality even at higher intensities. dDBS may compensate for slightly misplaced leads and should be considered first line for PSA/VIM ‐DBS. Deep Brain Stimulation of the Internal Pallidum in Lesch –Nyhan Syndrome: Clinical Outcomes and Connectivity Analysis
ConclusionCombined bilateral stimulation of the anteromedial and posteroventral GPi may be considered as an option for managing refractory dystonia and self ‐harm behavior in LNS patients. A multidisciplinary team‐based approach is essential for patient selection and management, to support children and families, to achieve functional improvement and alleviate the overall disease burden for patients and caregivers.
