< em > In-vivo < /em > anti-epileptic study of newly synthesized pregabalin derivatives based on docking studies
DISCUSSION: Since the newly synthesized compounds were more active as compared to the parent drug in some respects; therefore, the expansion of the project can be planned to explore clinical side of the drugs in the future.PMID:37751764 | DOI:10.1080/01616412.2023.2257440 (Source: Neurological Research)

Mild cognitive impairment in patients with Parkinson ´s disease and the analysis of associated factors
DISCUSSION: Mild cognitive impairment is a widespread clinical situation of PD patients and often presents before the motor symptoms. Revealing curable causes that affect cognition before the development of PD-related dementia is crucial in controlling motor findings and reducing the burden of the caretakers.PMID:37743634 | DOI:10.1080/01616412.2023.2258038 (Source: Neurological Research)

Astrocyte-derived extracellular vesicles inhibit the abnormal activation of immune function in neonatal mice with hypoxic-ischemic brain damage by carrying miR-124-3p
CONCLUSION: ADEVs can inhibit the abnormal activation of immune function in HIBD by delivering miR-124-3p, thereby eliciting a protective effect on brain damage in neonatal mice.PMID:37748110 | DOI:10.1080/01616412.2023.2257416 (Source: Neurological Research)

A cross-sectional study on restless legs syndrome (RLS) in polycythemia vera (PV): is iron deficiency the only culprit?
CONCLUSION: RLS was more common among PV and ET patients than HSs, which was irrespective to the iron status. RLS was more frequent in ET patients than that observed in PV cases, indicating that ID may not be the only causative factor for RLS development in PV. Further prospective studies are needed to determine the prevalence and risk factors of RLS developing in PV and ET.PMID:37736879 | DOI:10.1080/01616412.2023.2257443 (Source: Neurological Research)

Cholinergic deficit induced memory retrieval impairment and hippocampal CaMKII-alpha deregulation is counteracted by sub-chronic agmatine treatment in mice
This study suggests that hippocampal CaMKII-α might play a role in scopolamine induced amnesia and sub-chronic agmatine prevents the impairing effect of scopolamine on the retrieval phase of memory and the phosphorylation of hippocampal CaMKII-α protein.PMID:37733020 | DOI:10.1080/01616412.2023.2257417 (Source: Neurological Research)

5 -Alpha-dihydroxyprogesterone may contribute to perceptual processing and attention of the cases with relapsing remitting multiple sclerosis
Neurol Res. 2023 Sep 21:1-7. doi: 10.1080/01616412.2023.2258040. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTNeurosteroids (NSs) are endogenous steroid hormones, which are synthesised and metabolised within the central nervous system (CNS). NSs aid myelination and glial differentiation and modulate cognitive functions. Herein, we aim to investigate the relationship between NS levels, 5-alpha-dihydroxyprogesterone (5-α-DHP) and allopregnanolone (ALPG), and their relationship with cognitive changes in relapsing remitting MS patients.A total of 43 cases with well controlled, relapsing remitting MS composed the study group. The control gro...
