In planta transformation in wheat: an improved protocol to develop wheat transformants
CONCLUSIONS: Screening at T0 stage, reduced the load of plants to be taken to T1 generation and their screening thereof at T1 with no overall loss in transformation efficiency. We successfully transformed wheat genotype HD2894 with 3.33% transformation efficiency using a simple, effective method which was less labour-intensive and less time-consuming. This method may be utilized to develop wheat transgenic as well as genome edited lines for desirable traits.PMID:38460010 | DOI:10.1007/s11033-024-09333-8 (Source: Molecular Biology Reports)

Molecular cloning and gene expression of acc2 from grass carp (Ctenopharyngodon idella) and the regulation of glucose metabolism by ACCs inhibitor
CONCLUSIONS: This study showed that the function of ACC2 was evolutionarily conserved from fish to mammals. ACCs inhibitor inhibited the biological activity of ACCs, and reduced fat accumulation in grass carp.PMID:38456942 | DOI:10.1007/s11033-024-09286-y (Source: Molecular Biology Reports)

Genetic insights of antibiotic resistance, pathogenicity (virulence) and phylogenetic relationship of Escherichia coli strains isolated from livestock, poultry and their handlers - a one health snapshot
CONCLUSION: The current study emphasizes the circulation of strains of pathogenic sequence types of clinical importance, carrying a diverse repertoire of genes associated with antibiotic resistance, biofilm formation and virulence properties in animal settings, necessitating immediate mitigation measures to reduce the risk of spread across the biosphere.PMID:38456953 | DOI:10.1007/s11033-024-09354-3 (Source: Molecular Biology Reports)

Functional studies associate novel DUOX2 gene variants detected in heterozygosity to Crohn's disease
CONCLUSIONS: Identifying novel variants in patients with Crohn's disease and their families is important for precision medicine approaches and understanding of the pathogenesis of likely "monogenic" rare forms of inflammatory bowel disease.PMID:38456993 | DOI:10.1007/s11033-024-09317-8 (Source: Molecular Biology Reports)

First report of Giardia duodenalis in dairy cattle and beef cattle in Shanxi, China
CONCLUSIONS: To the best of our knowledge, this is the first study to report cattle infected with G. duodenalis in Shanxi, China. Livestock-specific G. duodenalis assemblage E was the dominant assemblage genotype, and zoonotic sub-assemblage AI was also detected in this region.PMID:38457002 | DOI:10.1007/s11033-024-09342-7 (Source: Molecular Biology Reports)

Effect of heat exposure on prostaglandin production and expression of COX-2, PGES, PGFS, ITGAV and LGALS15 mRNAs in endometrial epithelial cells of buffalo (Bubalus bubalis)
CONCLUSION: It can be concluded that elevated temperature did not directly modulate prostaglandin production but, it promoted the expression of COX-2, PGES and PGFS mRNA in buffalo endometrial epithelial cells.PMID:38457014 | DOI:10.1007/s11033-024-09361-4 (Source: Molecular Biology Reports)

Effect of MAOA rs1465108 polymorphism on susceptibility to substance/alcohol use disorder: a novel PCR-RFLP assay for the detection of MAOA rs1465108
CONCLUSIONS: The results presented here do not support the hypothesis that MAOA rs1465108 is associated with substance/alcohol use disorders. The intensity of depressive symptoms could be changed according to the abused substance type. A novel PCR-RFLP was developed for genotyping of MAOA rs1465108 polymorphism, which could be a better option for laboratories without high technology equipment.PMID:38457024 | DOI:10.1007/s11033-024-09366-z (Source: Molecular Biology Reports)
