Robot-assisted versus open surgery for radical nephrectomy with level 1-2 vena cava tumor thrombectomy : a French monocenter experience (UroCCR study #73).
CONCLUSIONS: Robotic approach induced lower bleeding and shorter LOS but required longer OT. This technique is feasible and safe for selected cases and experimented surgical team. Complications rate and oncological outcomes are not different compared to standard open procedures. PMID: 33200900 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher] (Source: Minerva Urologica e Nefrologica)

Single overnight stay after robot-assisted partial nephrectomy: a bi-center experience.
CONCLUSIONS: Our findings confirm that a single overnight stay after RAPN is feasible and safe. In our experience, and within the limitations of the present analysis, prolonged operative time and occurrence of immediate postoperative complications translate into higher risk of prolonged hospital stay. Besides adopting a minimally invasive approach, surgeons should also implement perioperative care pathways facilitating early discharge without increasing the risk of readmission. Evaluating the utility of antibiotic prophylaxis prior to ESWL in patients with sterile urine: a systematic review and meta-analysis.
CONCLUSIONS: AP is not necessary for patients with sterile urine prior to ESWL for the prevention of UTI. Also, patients that undergo instrumentation of the urinary tract prior to or during ESWL do not benefit from antibiotic prophylaxis but further research is required. Computed tomography features predicting aggressiveness of malignant parenchymal renal tumors suitable for partial nephrectomy: a review.
CONCLUSIONS: Tumor size, enhancement characteristics, tumor margins and distance to the renal sinus are highly relevant CT features predicting biological aggressiveness of malignant parenchymal renal tumors. Combination of these parameters might be useful to generate tools to predict the unfavorable behavior of renal tumors suitable for PN. Ultrasound prostate parameters as predictors of successful trial without catheter after acute urinary retention in patients ongoing medical treatment for benign prostatic hyperplasia: a prospective multicenter study.
CONCLUSIONS: Patients receiving medical treatment for BPH and experiencing AUR still present a 54% probability of a successful TWOC. Ultrasound may help to identify patients with successful TWOC. PMID: 33200904 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher] (Source: Minerva Urologica e Nefrologica)

Outcomes of combination therapy with daily Tadalafil 5mg plus Tamsulosin 0.4mg to treat lower urinary tract symptoms and erectile dysfunction in men with or without metabolic syndrome.
CONCLUSIONS: Patients with MetS have worse LUTS and ED profiles. However, tadalafil plus tamsulosin combination treatment provided them a similar ED profile and a greater relief of OAB symptoms at the end of the trial. Combination therapy had the same safety profile in men besides MetS. Further randomized controlled trials are needed. The importance of anatomical reconstruction for continence recovery after robot assisted radical prostatectomy: a systematic review and pooled analysis from referral centres.
CONCLUSIONS: In patients undergoing RARP, TR facilitates a faster and higher continence recovery compared to standard approach or PR or AR only. PMID: 33200906 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher] (Source: Minerva Urologica e Nefrologica)

Robot-assisted partial nephrectomy: 7-year outcomes.
CONCLUSIONS: Our findings show excellent 7-year oncologic and functional outcomes of the procedure, which duplicate those achieved in historical series of open and laparoscopic surgery. PMID: 33200907 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher] (Source: Minerva Urologica e Nefrologica)

Penile prosthesis implant in the management of Peyronies' disease: a systematic review of the literature.
CONCLUSIONS: Overall, patients with PD and ED can expect excellent outcomes with PPI against a minimal risk of side effects. No definite conclusions can be made regarding which technique is superior. PMID: 33179867 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher] (Source: Minerva Urologica e Nefrologica)

Fusion US/MRI prostate biopsy using a Computer Aided Diagnostic (CAD) system.
CONCLUSIONS: CAD assistance for FPB seems to improve detection of csPCa located in anterior/transitional zone. Enhanced identification and improved contouring of lesions may justify higher diagnostic performance. PMID: 33179868 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher] (Source: Minerva Urologica e Nefrologica)

Robot-assisted radical cystectomy with intracorporeal neobladder: impact of learning curve and long-term assessment of functional outcomes.
CONCLUSIONS: Patients treated at the beginning of the learning curve show worse perioperative and functional results. Once standardized the procedure, complications rates, hospital stay and daytime continence recovery experienced a significant improvement. At a long-term analysis of functional outcomes of our patients, renal function preservation and continence recovery results are encouraging. Prone versus supine PNL: a systematic review and metaanalysis of current literature.
CONCLUSIONS: Efficacy of PNL seems balanced between prone and supine position, with comparable overall SFR and shorter operative time in favor of supine PNL. Safety of PNL appears in favor of supine PNL, with lower fever rate. Because of study heterogeneity and possible risks of outcome bias, results from this study should be interpreted with caution. Altogether, both prone and supine PNL account for appropriate therapy options. PMID: 33016031 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher] (Source: Minerva Urologica e Nefrologica)
