Management and follow-up of differentiated thyroid cancer not submitted to radioiodine treatment: a systematic review.
CONCLUSIONS: Management of DTC treated with lobectomy or TTx but without 131I is worldwide changing. The evidences suggest that in this setting of patients with LR or IR of recurrences, a relaxed surveillance could represent the most reasonable choice. Serum cystatin C levels are decreased in type 1 diabetes mellitus patients with diabetic ketoacidosis.
CONCLUSIONS: Cystatin C was decreased in T1DM patients with DKA and was found to be an independent predictor of the occurrence of DKA in T1DM patients. The reduction in cystatin C levels might be significantly connected with acute events. PMID: 32340426 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher] (Source: Minerva Endocrinologica)

Vitamin D and psoriasis: an update for dermatologists and nutritionists.
Authors: Megna M, Ferrillo M, Barrea L, Patruno C, Muscogiuri G, Savastano S, Fabbrocini G, Napolitano M Abstract Psoriasis is a common chronic immune-mediated inflammatory skin disease, now considered a systemic inflammatory process with several comorbidities. The skin produces vitamin D by the action of ultraviolet light. Vitamin D performs various immunomodulatory, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and anti-fibrotic actions. The immunomodulatory effects of vitamin D offer opportunities to improve the treatment of several autoimmune diseases, such as psoriasis. In the literature, several significant associa...

Suboptimal medication adherence may favor the progression of vertebral fractures in women with post-menopausal osteoporosis under treatment with denosumab: a real-life observational study.
CONCLUSIONS: In post-menopausal women at high risk of fractures, the small delay in the administration of denosumab (i.e., not uncommon in clinical practice) was associated with a significant increase of incidence of VFs. Preservation of standard dosing schedule appears to be an important determinant of denosumab effectiveness in the real-life clinical practice.
