Twin ectopic pregnancy after ipsilateral salpingectomy: A report of cases
ConclusionEctopic pregnancy in the remnant tube is difficult to diagnose due to the unique anatomic location of the pregnancy sometimes results in delayed diagnosis. Clinicians should be aware that salpingectomy does not exclude ipsilateral ectopic pregnancy. Although complete tubal resection cannot prevent cornual pregnancy, it might reduce the risk of recurrent ectopic pregnancy in the remnant tube. (Source: Middle East Fertility Society Journal)

Systematic review and meta-analysis of letrozole and clomiphene citrate in polycystic ovary syndrome
This study aims to systematically evaluate the clinical efficacy and safety of both clomiphene citrate (CC) and letrozole, and to examine if the efficacy of letrozole is superior to CC in women with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS).Major databases were searched for eligible randomised controlled trials (RCTs). The methodological quality of the included studies was assessed by two independent reviewers. Meta-analysis was performed using random-effect model to account for the high levels of heterogeneity. Overall, ten eligible RCTs involving 1905 women were included. Letrozole was associated with significantly higher ovulati...

Evaluation of endometrial and subendometrial vascularity in obese women with polycystic ovarian disease
ConclusionsThe endometrium is negatively affected by obesity in women with PCOD. Additionally, PCOD women had lower endometrial and subendometrial blood flow than non-PCOD women. Therefore, overweight/obese PCOD women should be encouraged to reduce their body weight in order to improve the endometrial receptivity. (Source: Middle East Fertility Society Journal)

Using two different thawing temperatures and their effect on the motility recovery of human cryopreserved sperms in cancer patients
This study aimed to investigate the effects of different thawing temperature (37 °C & 40 °C) on sperm motility recovery after cryopreservation-involving four types of cancer tumors at variable ages between 16 and 42 years- to help cancer patient for storage their sperms. A detailed semen analysis was collected under guidelines for 30 samples. The samples were then analysed and frozen in liquid nitrogen. The semen samples were subsequently thawed at 37 °C & 40°Cfor 3 min. This was then followed by statistical analysis of the comparative motilities. Results: thawing of cryopreserved human sperm at 40 °C resu...

Serum visfatin as predictive marker of cardiometabolic risk in women with polycystic ovary syndrome
ConclusionSerum visfatin levels could discriminate PCOS from healthy control and T2DM from NGT PCOS women. Moreover, vesfatin was positive correlated to cardio-metabolic risk factors. Interestingly, the sensitivity and specificity power of vesfatin were high. Thus, it could be early predicting of cardio-metabolic risks among PCOS women and might be useful in therapeutic intervention in future. (Source: Middle East Fertility Society Journal)
