We present a case caused by an infected Bentall mechanical valve conduit after cardiac surgery in a patient who was referred for a suprasternal pulsatile mass. The patient also had 1 episode of sentinel haemorrhage.

Staged Surgical Treatment of Primary Aortoesophageal Fistula.
We report a case of a patient presenting with hematemesis who was successfully treated by a staged treatment, in which bridging thoracic endovascular aortic repair was followed by delayed surgical repair of the esophagus and aorta.

Graft Perforation by a Spinal Bony Spur: An Unusual Cause of Late Bleeding after Thoracoabdominal Aorta Replacement.
We report an unusual case of delayed bleeding after open surgical repair of a thoracoabdominal aortic aneurysm. A 79-year-old man developed a massive retroperitoneal hematoma 49 days after Crawford type III thoracoabdominal aorta replacement. During emergency surgery, a tear was found in the prosthetic vascular graft caused by a sharp bony spur arising from the second lumbar vertebral body. This rare, but potentially lethal, complication indicates that attention should be paid to sharp bony structures during open repair of the descending aorta.

Surgical Ablation of Atrial Fibrillation in Patients Undergoing Bioprosthetic Valve Replacement.
Conclusion: The overall long-term clinical outcomes in these predominantly elderly patients undergoing AF ablation concomitantly with bioprosthetic valve replacement were satisfactory; however, AF recurrence was frequent. Older age, a history of prior cardiac surgery, and large LA size were associated with an increased risk of AF recurrence.

Outcomes of Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting after Extracorporeal Life Support in Patients with Cardiac Arrest or Cardiogenic Shock.
Conclusion: CABG after ECLS was very rare in real-world circumstances. Although the early mortality rate was high, the risk of mortality may be acceptable under such devastating circumstances.

Acute Pulmonary Thromboembolism: 14 Years of Surgical Experience.
Conclusion: Surgical embolectomy revealed favorable mortality and morbidity rates in patients with acute massive or submassive PTE, with sustained long-term improvements in cardiac function.

A Prospective Randomized Trial Comparing Manual Needle Aspiration to Closed Thoracostomy as an Initial Treatment for the First Episode of Primary Spontaneous Pneumothorax.
Conclusion: Needle aspiration is a favorable initial treatment in patients experiencing a first episode of PSP.

Do Blebs or Bullae on High-Resolution Computed Tomography Predict Ipsilateral Recurrence in Young Patients at the First Episode of Primary Spontaneous Pneumothorax?
Conclusion: The presence, number, and size of blebs or bullae did not affect ipsilateral recurrence. DSS failed to show a positive correlation between severity and recurrence. The decision to perform surgery in patients experiencing their first episode of PSP should not be determined by the severity of blebs and bullae.

Abstract
Right heart failure is a relatively common complication after left ventricular assist device (LVAD) implantation. Severe right heart failure can be managed by temporary right ventricular assist device (RVAD) implantation. However, trans-sternal RVAD insertion requires a subsequent third sternotomy for cannula removal. Herein, we present a case of RVAD insertion via a left anterior mini-thoracotomy after LVAD implantation in a patient with alcohol-induced cardiomyopathy.

Late Reoperation Following Ligation of the Left Main Coronary Artery in a Patient with Infective Endocarditis.
We report the case of a female patient who underwent late reoperation following endocarditis surgery. The patient first underwent surgery at 22 years of age for endocarditis with aortic and tricuspid insufficiency. She underwent aortic root replacement with a homograft and tricuspid valve replacement with a tissue valve. Aortic Arch Endarterectomy Associated with On-Pump Cardiac Surgery in Patients with a Mobile Arch Atheroma.
We describe aortic arch endarterectomy performed concomitantly with on-pump cardiac surgery in 2 patients with grade V arch atherosclerosis. In both patients, transesophageal echocardiographic findings led to the diagnosis of severe arch atherosclerosis associated with a mobile atheromatous plaque in the aortic arch. The severe arch atherosclerosis was managed with endarterectomy under deep hypothermic circulatory arrest. In patients with severe grade V atherosclerosis in the aortic arch, performing endarterectomy simultaneously with primary cardiac surgery may be justified as a way to reduce the risk of peripheral embolis...

Lymph Node Metastasis after Spontaneous Regression of Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer.

Spontaneous regression of lung cancer is a very rare and poorly understood phenomenon. A 64-year-old man presented to Dong-A University Hospital with a shrunken nodule in the right lower lobe. Timing of Esophagectomy after Neoadjuvant Chemoradiation Therapy Affects the Incidence of Anastomotic Leaks.
