Abstract No. 135 Five-Year Outcomes After MRI-Guided Transurethral Ultrasound Ablation (TULSA) of Localized Prostate Cancer
In-bore MRI-guided transurethral ultrasound ablation (TULSA) sonographically coagulates prostate tissue within focal or whole-gland ablation plans, while automatically adjusting treatment parameters based on real-time MRI thermometry feedback. The TACT pivotal study demonstrated favorable safety and efficacy at 1 year in men with localized, predominantly intermediate-risk prostate cancer (PCa). Here we report the 5-safety, quality of life, and oncological outcomes at 5 year follow-up. (Source: Journal of Vascular and Interventional Radiology : JVIR)

Abstract No. 136 Correlation of Cryoablation Volume with Renal Function Loss After Cryoablation in Solitary Functioning Kidneys
Patients with a solitary kidney and RCC are at risk of renal function deterioration and potentially ESRD with treatment, though quantification of the actual risk to inform decision-making and patient counseling is challenging. The purpose of this study was to analyze the degree of renal function deterioration and incidence of ESRD based on renal cryoablation volume parameters in patients with a solitary functioning kidney. Abstract No. 140 Staged versus Simultaneous Biopsy and Cryoablation for Small Renal Masses
The AUA treatment algorithm for suspicious renal masses has shifted to favor nephron-sparing surgeries including percutaneous ablation for small renal masses. While most solid enhancing tumors are presumed to be RCC; a small percentage of these can be benign which has implications for patients who have an elevated lifetime risk of CKD. However, there is no consensus regarding the role or timing of biopsy prior to cryoablation. The purpose of this study was to assess the diagnostic yield, rate of nonmalignant tumors ablated, and complications when a tumor is biopsied in a separate setting from the ablation (staged) versus d...

Abstract No. 141 Compassionate ablative radioembolization of a large inoperable renal cell carcinoma invading the liver that resulted in hematuria control and complete necrosis by mRECIST
A 77-year-old male patient presented with uncontrolled hematuria because of a large renal mass (maximum diameter 9.3 cm; biopsy-proven renal cell carcinoma (RCC)) that also invaded the adjacent liver segments V and VI. He was under anticoagulant therapy for atrial fibrillation and on hemodialysis because of diabetes. He was on long-term Cabozantinib treatment with stable lung and soft tissue metastases. Abstract No. 142 Long-Term Follow-Up of Oncologic Outcomes in Patients Who Underwent Percutaneous Microwave Ablation versus Robot-Assisted Partial Nephrectomy for Stage I Renal Cell Carcinoma: A Propensity-Matched Analysis Study
There has been a noteworthy increase in the incidence of Stage I renal cell carcinoma (RCC) in recent years, primarily due to incidental detection on cross-sectional imaging. Percutaneous Microwave Ablation (MWA) has demonstrated comparable short-term efficacy and a favorable safety profile in comparison to the standard of care Partial Nephrectomy (PN). However, there is a dearth of literature comparing its long-term outcomes. (Source: Journal of Vascular and Interventional Radiology : JVIR)

Abstract No. 146 ▪ Featured Abstract Safety of Selective Transarterial Radioembolization for Hepatocellular Carcinoma in Patients with Baseline Hyperbilirubinemia
Hyperbilirubinemia co-occurs in patients with cirrhosis and hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) and is often considered a contraindication to Yttrium-90 trans-arterial radioembolization (TARE). We hypothesize that selective TARE is safe in patients with HCC and baseline hyperbilirubinemia. (Source: Journal of Vascular and Interventional Radiology : JVIR)
