Cerebral protection in acute type A aortic dissection surgery: a systematic review and meta-analysis
CONCLUSIONS: This study demonstrated that the ACP and RCP are both safe and acceptable techniques to use in emergent settings. The uACP technique is equivalent to bACP in terms of PND and mortality, however, uACP is preferred over bACP in terms of TND.PMID:38505075 | PMC:PMC10944792 | DOI:10.21037/jtd-23-1039 (Source: Journal of Thoracic Disease)

Anti-titin antibodies in a cohort of myasthenia gravis patients
CONCLUSIONS: The presence of anti-titin antibodies appears to correlate with underlying thymoma in early-onset MG cases and with generalized MG in late-onset cases. Prospective studies are needed to further study this association.PMID:38505076 | PMC:PMC10944723 | DOI:10.21037/jtd-23-94 (Source: Journal of Thoracic Disease)

Improvement of idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis through a combination of < em > Astragalus < /em > radix and < em > Angelica sinensis < /em > radix via mammalian target of rapamycin signaling pathway-induced autophagy in rat
CONCLUSIONS: The combination of AR and AS protects against IPF by inducing autophagy via inhibiting the mTOR signaling pathway. The synergistic action of AR and AS is superior to that of either AR or AS alone.PMID:38505077 | PMC:PMC10944740 | DOI:10.21037/jtd-24-28 (Source: Journal of Thoracic Disease)

Transcatheter valve-in-valve implantation treatment with the J-valve system for tricuspid bioprosthesis deterioration: a report of two cases
CONCLUSIONS: The ViV technique with J-valve is feasible and effective in treating tricuspid bioprosthetic SVD in high-risk patients, avoiding cardiopulmonary bypass and conventional thoracotomy injury.PMID:38505078 | PMC:PMC10944779 | DOI:10.21037/jtd-23-1961 (Source: Journal of Thoracic Disease)

Anatomical distribution and clinical significance of translobar bronchi, arteries, and veins hidden in the interlobar fissure
CONCLUSIONS: Translobar bronchovascular structures exhibited a high incidence and were more commonly present in IIFs. Surgeons should pay increased attention to these structures to prevent accidental injuries during anatomical pulmonary resection.PMID:38505079 | PMC:PMC10944793 | DOI:10.21037/jtd-23-1534 (Source: Journal of Thoracic Disease)
