Histopathologic fate of resected pulmonary pure ground glass nodule: a systematic review and meta-analysis
CONCLUSIONS: The portion of IA in cases of pure GGN is significantly larger that expected. More than half of them owned invasiveness components if MIA and IA were combined. Furthermore, there were quite number of lesions with aggressive histologic patterns other than the lepidic subtype. High flow nasal oxygen < em > vs. < /em > conventional oxygen therapy over respiratory oxygenation index after esophagectomy: an observational study
CONCLUSIONS: HFNC improved the ROX index after esophagectomy through significant respiratory rate reduction. This tool should be considered for early respiratory support after extubation in this category of patients, not only as a rescue therapy for ARF, but also to optimize early postoperative respiratory function. Identification of prognostic biomarkers of smoking-related lung cancer
CONCLUSIONS: Three genes BPIFA1, SLPI and SCGB3A1, were identified as being associated with smokers with lung cancer, with SCGB3A1 showing a close correlation with patient prognosis. These findings provide potential new targets for the treatment of lung cancer. A narrative review of the controversy on the risk of mycobacterial infections with immune checkpoint inhibitor use: does Goldilocks have the answer?
CONCLUSIONS: Studies are needed to test the hypothesis that ICIs may either protect or predispose to mycobacterial infections, depending on the baseline host immune status. Prospective studies are required of patients on ICIs that control for potential confounders as anecdotal case reports are insufficient to provide a causal link.
