Update on the Sentinel Node Procedure in Vulvar Cancer
In conclusion, the SN procedure is an established procedure in early-stage VSCC, although optimization of the technique, pathologic workup, indications, and treatment in the setting of metastatic disease are the subject of ongoing research.PMID:38503055 | DOI:10.6004/jnccn.2024.7002 (Source: Journal of the National Comprehensive Cancer Network : JNCCN)

Vulvar Cancer, Version 3.2024, NCCN Clinical Practice Guidelines in Oncology
J Natl Compr Canc Netw. 2024 Mar;22(2):117-135. doi: 10.6004/jnccn.2024.0013.ABSTRACTVulvar cancer is annually diagnosed in an estimated 6,470 individuals and the vast majority are histologically squamous cell carcinomas. Vulvar cancer accounts for 5% to 8% of gynecologic malignancies. Known risk factors for vulvar cancer include increasing age, infection with human papillomavirus, cigarette smoking, inflammatory conditions affecting the vulva, and immunodeficiency. Most vulvar neoplasias are diagnosed at early stages. Rarer histologies exist and include melanoma, extramammary Paget's disease, Bartholin gland adenocarcinom...

Gastroesophageal Adenocarcinomas With Defective Mismatch Repair: Current Knowledge and Clinical Management
J Natl Compr Canc Netw. 2024 Mar 19:1-8. doi: 10.6004/jnccn.2023.7103. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTEsophageal, gastroesophageal junction, and gastric adenocarcinomas, referred to collectively as gastroesophageal adenocarcinomas (GEAs), are a major cause of global cancer-related mortality. Our increasing molecular understanding has led to the addition of biomarker-directed approaches to defined subgroups and has improved survival in selected patients, such as those with HER2 and Claudin18.2 overexpression. Immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) have revolutionized the treatment of cancer, including GEA, but biomarkers beyond...

Mesothelioma: Pleural, Version 1.2024
J Natl Compr Canc Netw. 2024 Mar;22(2):72-81. doi: 10.6004/jnccn.2024.0014.ABSTRACTMesothelioma is a rare cancer that originates from the mesothelial surfaces of the pleura and other sites, and is estimated to occur in approximately 3,500 people in the United States annually. Pleural mesothelioma is the most common type and represents approximately 85% of these cases. The NCCN Guidelines for Mesothelioma: Pleural provide recommendations for the diagnosis, evaluation, treatment, and follow-up for patients with pleural mesothelioma. These NCCN Guidelines Insights highlight significant updates to the NCCN Guidelines for Mesot...

Key Performance Indicators and Metrics for the Implementation of an Oral Chemotherapy Adherence Program
CONCLUSIONS: This study identified 11 KPIs that can be used in evaluating the success of an OAA adherence program. Use of these KPIs will be piloted after formal implementation of the program in both academic and community cancer centers.PMID:38503050 | DOI:10.6004/jnccn.2023.7106 (Source: Journal of the National Comprehensive Cancer Network : JNCCN)
