Efficacy and Safety of Hole Implantable Collamer Lens in Comparison with Original Implantable Collamer Lens in Patients with Moderate to High Myopia.
Conclusion: The two groups had similar clinical effectiveness in terms of unaided visual acuity, best corrected visual acuity, intraocular pressure and spherical aberration induction. The new Hole-ICL group (Group B) needed no preoperative laser peripheral iridotomies or intraoperative iridectomy. Prevalence of Arterial Stiffness and Associated Factors in Thai Patients with Chronic Kidney Disease and Kidney Transplant Recipients.
Conclusion: Arterial stiffness was markedly raised in all groups of CKD patients with an overall prevalence of 56%. The highest prevalence of arterial stiffness was found in ESRD patients treated with HD and CAPD. It was shown that the associated factors that independently increased arterial stiffness were HD patients, KT recipients, older age and higher central MAP. Risk Factors of Ectopic Pregnancy in Women Undergoing In Vitro Fertilization and Embryo Transfer (IVF-ET).
Conclusion: Embryo transfer in fresh cycle and day-5 embryo transfer significantly increased EP risk. More patients and embryo characteristics are necessary to be studied to identify more valid predictors. Comparison of High Dose and Standard Dose Proton Pump Inhibitor before Endoscopy in Patients with Non-Portal Hypertension Bleeding.
Conclusion: The high dose of PPIs administration before endoscopy reduced the chance of high-risk peptic ulcer bleeding compared to the standard dose. Both high dose and standard dose of PPIs did not affect the time of hospital stay, unit of blood transfusion, the complications after endoscopy, and mortality rate. Standard dose PPIs can be considered using in patients with Blatchford scores lower than 10. High dose PPIs would be beneficial in patients who have Blatchford scores between 10 and 12. For patients who have Blatchford scores greater than 12, high dose PPIs are recommended. PMID: 29927201 [PubMed - in pro...

Differentiation of Takotsubo Cardiomyopathy from ST Elevation Myocardial Infarction in Patients Activated for Fast-Track Coronary Angiography.
Conclusion: In patients activated for fast-track coronary angiography because of acute coronary ST-segment elevation syndrome, a number of clinical and ECG features differ between TC patients and patients with true STEMI. Our proposed point scoring model that uses clinical and ECG findings demonstrated improved diagnostic accuracy in differentiating TC from acute anterior STEMI.
