Sexual behaviour and STIs among MSM living with HIV in the PrEP era: the French ANRS PRIMO cohort study
CONCLUSIONS: Implementation of TasP and more recently PrEP has led to major changes in the sexual behaviour of MSM with HIV. ICU has become overwhelmingly prevalent, PrEP use by the partner increasingly being the reported reason for ICU, behind TasP, which remains the main reason. Characteristics of MSM at the time of diagnosis of HIV have changed, with fewer number of sexual partners today than in 2014, which must lead to broaden the indications for PrEP prescription. STIs incidence remains high in MSM with HIV and requires improvements in screening and prevention methods such as pre- or post-exposition antibiotics or vac...

"Emotional stress is more detrimental than the virus itself": A qualitative study to understand HIV testing and pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) use among internal migrant men in South Africa
CONCLUSIONS: Bringing HIV services to migrant men at community sites may ease the burden of accessing these services. Including PrEP counselling and services alongside HIV testing may further encourage men to test, particularly if integrated into counselling for livelihood and coping strategies, as well as support for navigating health services in Johannesburg.PMID:38462755 | PMC:PMC10935710 | DOI:10.1002/jia2.26225 (Source: Journal of the International AIDS Society)

Optimizing health resource allocation for improving timely HIV diagnosis in China
CONCLUSIONS: Optimizing resource allocation for HIV testing in high-risk populations would improve HIV timely diagnosis rate of new infections and reduce cost per HIV case detection.PMID:38444111 | DOI:10.1002/jia2.26221 (Source: Journal of the International AIDS Society)

What does the scale-up of long-acting HIV pre-exposure prophylaxis mean for the global hepatitis B epidemic?
CONCLUSIONS: Long-acting PrEP holds promise for reducing HIV incidence, but its implications for the HBV epidemic, particularly in sub-Saharan Africa, should not be overlooked.PMID:38444112 | DOI:10.1002/jia2.26218 (Source: Journal of the International AIDS Society)

Phase 1 randomized pharmacokinetic and safety study of a 90-day tenofovir vaginal ring in the United States
CONCLUSIONS: The 90-day TFV ring was well-tolerated, acceptable and exceeded target cervical tissue concentrations through day 56, but declined thereafter. Additional studies are needed to characterize the higher release from TFV rings in some participants and the optimal duration of use.PMID:38444118 | DOI:10.1002/jia2.26223 (Source: Journal of the International AIDS Society)

Effect of differentiated direct-to-pharmacy PrEP refill visits supported with client HIV self-testing on clinic visit time and early PrEP continuation
CONCLUSIONS: A client-centred PrEP delivery approach with direct-to-pharmacy PrEP refill visits plus client HIVST significantly reduced clinic visit time by more than one-third and improved PrEP continuation in public health HIV clinics in Kenya.PMID:38446643 | DOI:10.1002/jia2.26222 (Source: Journal of the International AIDS Society)
