Sinking Skin Flap Syndrome, a Rare Complication of Craniectomy
Teaching point: Sinking skin flap syndrome is a medical emergency that rarely complicates large craniectomy. It results from an intracerebral hypotension and requires the replacement of the cranial flap. Published on 2022-05-27 11:43:16 (Source: Journal of the Belgian Society of Radiology)

Multiple De Novo Cerebral Arteriovenous Malformations in a Patient with Alcoholic Liver Cirrhosis
Cerebral arteriovenous malformations (cAVMs) are traditionally considered congenital anomalies. The literature includes only two reported cases of de novo solitary cAVMs associated with liver cirrhosis (LC). Here, we report a unique case of multiple de novo cAVMs in a patient with alcoholic LC.Teaching point: In patients with potential risks for de novo cAVM, including liver cirrhosis, the possibility of multiple de novo cAVMs should be considered. Liver Hydatid Cyst Rupture with Respiratory Distress During COVID-19 Pandemic
We present a case of a young male patient who was brought to the emergency room with abdominal pain, fever, dyspnea and hypoxemia, and was initially oriented as an acute COVID-19 pneumonia. A thoracoabdominal computed tomography (CT) was performed to rule out pneumonia and the abdominal extension of the study revealed a hepatic hydatid cyst with rupture into the abdominal cavity with respiratory distress secondary to an anaphylactic reaction that, if left untreated, may lead to a fatal outcome. An urgent laparotomy was performed with cyst resection. The follow-up and complications are briefly described. Published on 2022-0...

Clear Cell Renal Cell Carcinoma: Local Recurrence and Bilateral Adrenal Metastases - A Case Report
Conclusions: Clear cell renal cell carcinoma has no specific symptoms. For the complete diagnosis and further monitoring, the use of CT is necessary.Teaching Point: Clear cell renal cell carcinoma treated with partial nephrectomy can relapse near the surgical scar and progress with metachronous bilateral adrenal metastases, especially when close follow-up is not performed due to the pandemic situation. A Case of Spondylodiscitis Fistulating Into the Vagina 15 Years after Promontofixation
We present here a case of a 75-year-old woman who underwent a subtotal hysterectomy, followed by a trachelectomy, and presented 15 years later with lumbago and fever. After thorough examination, haemocultures and imaging were performed. This led to the diagnosis of spondylodiscitis of L5-S1, likely due to S. constellatus, with a fistula into the vagina. The patient received surgical treatment. This case is unusual due to the time lapse between the hysterectomy and the infection as well as the probable pathogen.Teaching Point: Promontofixation material can remain despite hysterectomy and can be a source of infection many ye...
