Scar Characterization to Predict Life-Threatening Arrhythmic Events and Sudden Cardiac Death in Patients With Cardiac Resynchronization Therapy: The GAUDI-CRT Study
Conclusions The presence, extension, heterogeneity, and qualitative distribution of BZ tissue of myocardial scar independently predict appropriate ICD therapies and SCD in CRT patients. (Source: Journal of the American College of Cardiology: Cardiovascular Imaging)

A Randomized Trial of Pocket-Echocardiography Integrated Mobile Health Device Assessments in Modern Structural Heart Disease Clinics
Conclusions An initial mHealth diagnostic strategy was associated with a shorter time to definitive therapy among patients with SHD in a resource-limited area and was associated with improved outcomes. Effusive-Constrictive Pericarditis After Pericardiocentesis: Incidence, Associated Findings, and Natural History
Conclusions In a large cohort of unselected patients undergoing pericardiocentesis, 16% were found to have ECP. Pre-centesis echocardiographic findings might identify such patients. Long-term prognosis in those patients remains good, and pericardiectomy was rarely required. (Source: Journal of the American College of Cardiology: Cardiovascular Imaging)

Lesion-Specific and Vessel-Related Determinants of Fractional Flow Reserve Beyond Coronary Artery Stenosis
Conclusions In addition to the severity of luminal stenosis, necrotic core volume is an independent predictor of FFR. The distribution of plaque characteristics among lesions with varying luminal stenosis and normal and abnormal FFR may explain the outcomes associated with FFR-guided therapy.
