Determinants of prolonged baseline blood pressure restoration following autonomic dysreflexia for individuals with spinal cord injuries
CONCLUSIONS: A significant association was found between BP elevation and prolonged RT. Determinants such as the severity of the SCI, bladder trabeculation, VUR, and DO were correlated with prolonged RT, considering their importance in the assessment of baseline BP following AD.PMID:38568108 | DOI:10.1080/10790268.2024.2335693 (Source: Journal of Spinal Cord Medicine)

Development of an activity-based therapy tracking tool: Item generation and reduction using the Delphi method
CONCLUSION: This study identified the types of ABT and technology to include in an ABT tracking tool. Such a tool may provide details of an ABT program that can support decision-making at the individual, program and health system levels and aid the development of best practice guidelines.PMID:38568092 | DOI:10.1080/10790268.2024.2334104 (Source: Journal of Spinal Cord Medicine)

Heart rate variability and its association with symptoms of orthostatic hypotension in spinal cord injury
CONCLUSIONS: Differences in HRV parameters were observed in people with SCI and OH, suggesting a reduced parasympathetic activity in the supine position, likely as a response to maintain homeostasis in BP regulation. Despite the presence or absence of OH symptoms, there was no difference in HRV parameters. This finding suggests that autonomic function may not be the primary determinant of these symptoms, with other factors likely being more influential.PMID:38478465 | DOI:10.1080/10790268.2024.2326703 (Source: Journal of Spinal Cord Medicine)
