Spontaneous Unilateral Intrasphenoidal Meningocele
We present a case of a 38-year-old female found to have a meningocele protruding into the left sphenoid sinus, who presented with intractable headache but no CSF rhinorrhea. The lesion was discovered on computed tomography angiography, which was performed in order to rule out intracranial pathology as the etiology of her headache. Prior imaging, including pre- and post-contrast MRI, demonstrated the fluid within the sphenoid sinus, but did not reveal the communication through a defect in the base of the skull. Thus, it was assumed to be strictly related to sinus disease in the past. Our case represents a phenomenon whereby...

Intervertebral Disc Calcification and Klippel-Feil Syndrome
Intervertebral disc calcification is rare in the pediatric population and is associated with sudden neurological manifestations. Although commonly symptomatic, conservative management yields excellent prognosis in the vast majority of cases. The following case illustrates the finding of intervertebral disc calcification in a patient with vertebral body segmentation anomaly consistent with Klippel-Feil Syndrome. As both entities are associated with potential neurological sequelae, this case of coexistent pathologies highlights the importance of recognizing the potential presence of intervertebral disc calcifications in pedi...

Polyethylene Liner Dissociation after Reverse Shoulder Arthroplasty Dislocation: a Case Series
Reverse shoulder arthroplasty is a common procedure. While dislocation is a common complication, there are few reports documenting dislocation with associated polyethylene liner dissociation from the humeral tray. There have been 4 instances of this occurrence over 9 years at our institution, and there are specific radiographic clues for diagnosis. Recognizing polyethylene liner dissociation on imaging is important prior to treatment. In a " routine " dislocation, closed reduction may be attempted but when the polyethylene is dissociated, open reduction is the only treatment option, as closed reduction can damage the compo...

Pleomorphic Sarcoma in a Patient with Osteopetrosis
We report the case of a 53-year-old woman with previously undiagnosed osteopetrosis who presented with a pathologic proximal humeral fracture secondary to pleomorphic sarcoma, which is previously undescribed in the English literature. Management of the primary lesion necessitated ablative surgery, but the malignancy nonetheless was associated with rapidly progressive metastatic disease. (Source: Journal of Radiology Case Reports)

Torsion of Wandering Spleen and its adherence to the right ovary - An unusual cause of recurrent pain abdomen
Wandering spleen is a rare condition in which the spleen is hypermobile due to laxity or lack of its supporting ligaments. It can be located anywhere in the abdomen besides its usual position. The other terms that are used to describe this condition are splenic ptosis, displaced spleen, dislocated spleen and ectopic spleen. Splenic torsion is a dreaded complication and the usual cause of symptoms. There is a high chance of missing the diagnosis as it remains asymptomatic or may be incidentally discovered on radio-imaging done for a different purpose. An acute abdomen is the most common presentation. Here we describe an unu...

Penetrating chest trauma after attempted suicide: An extraordinary behavior of a posttraumatic pulmonary artery pseudoaneurysm
We present a case of a posttraumatic peripheral pulmonary artery pseudoaneurysm with complete disappearance after one year. This case confirms that conservative treatment can be an effective option in asymptomatic and stable patients. (Source: Journal of Radiology Case Reports)

The Wandering Charm Needle
Charm needles, otherwise known as susuk, are small pin like objects worn subcutaneously, thought to bring magic powers, bringing health, wealth, beauty, and other benefits to the wearer. These talismans are fairly common in South-East Asia, and are generally thought to be benign entities with few clinical sequela. In fact, no known complications have ever been reported in the literature, as susuk are typically composed of biologically inert precious metals and rarely migrate from their origin. Herein, we detail the first ever reported case of a complication from a charm needle, involving a middle aged Chinese female who ha...

CT diagnosis of appendiceal intussusception in a middle-aged female
We present a case of adult appendiceal intussusception without a " lead point " that was successfully diagnosed by CT imaging. (Source: Journal of Radiology Case Reports)

Urinary bladder lipoma: an illustrative case
We present a case that illustrates the typical features that allow radiologists to diagnose this entity: a solid lesion that arises from the urinary bladder wall, showing an endophytic growth and homogeneous hypoattenuation. After its surgical resection, the diagnosis was confirmed by anatomo-pathological analysis. In the discussion we describe other neoplasms that should also be considered when a submucosal bladder neoplasm is detected on computed tomography or other imaging techniques. Bilateral Medial Medullary Infarction Accompanied by Cerebral Watershed Infarction: A case report
In this report, we describe a case in which acute bilateral medial medullary infarction accompanied by cerebral watershed infarction was clearly identified by diffusion-weighted imaging, and we discuss the mechanisms of bilateral medial medullary infarction accompanied by cerebral watershed infarction. Improvements in Cervical Spinal Canal Diameter and Neck Disability Following Correction of Cervical Lordosis and Cervical Spondylolistheses Using Chiropractic BioPhysics Technique: A Case Series
Cervical spondylolisthesis indicates instability of the spine and can lead to pain, radiculopathy, myelopathy and vertebral artery stenosis. Currently degenerative cervical spondylolisthesis is a wait-and-watch condition with no treatment guidelines. A literature review and discussion will be provided. 8 females presented with neck pain, disability, and history of motor vehicle collision. Radiographs revealed abnormal cervical alignment, spinal canal narrowing, and spondylolistheses. After 30 sessions of Chiropractic BioPhysics ® care over 12 weeks, patients reported improved symptoms and disabilities. Radiographs reveale...

Meandering pulmonary vein: A case report
We report a case of an anomalous unilateral single pulmonary vein also referred to as a meandering pulmonary vein. A single large tortuous pulmonary vein was seen on the right side draining into the left atrium with associated ipsilateral absence of the middle lobe bronchus and interlobar fissures. This is considered a variant of the classical scimitar syndrome. The venous anatomy was depicted with considerable accuracy using multidetector computed tomography (MDCT) non-invasively.
