Predictors of completion of a psychological-behavioral intervention in acute coronary syndrome patients
Dropout from health behavior interventions in patients with heart disease is a major clinical issue that can impact recovery and prognosis. Positive psychology (PP)-based treatments have the potential to promote health behaviors, but predictors of PP intervention completion have not been examined in persons with heart disease. Beyond the fear that lingers: The interaction between fear of cancer recurrence and rumination in relation to depression and anxiety symptoms
The Fear of Cancer Recurrence (FCR) is reported to be a normal response to cancer, but little is known about the interaction between FCR and maladaptive cognitive processes, which may increase the risk for depression and anxiety disorders among cancer survivors. Previous studies have shown the influence of rumination on depression and anxiety in other populations. Thus, the present study aimed to examine how FCR and rumination may relate to depression and anxiety symptoms among cancer survivors. (Source: Journal of Psychosomatic Research)

The impact of attachment insecurity on pain and pain behaviors in experimental pain
Pain perception and pain behaviors are distinct phenomena with different functions. Pain behaviors are protective in their functions, which include eliciting empathy or caring behaviors from others. Moreover, pain behaviors are intertwined with interpersonal relationships with significant others, which is why attachment orientations have been suggested as interpersonal schemas moderating the association between pain and pain behaviors. The aim of the current study was to assess the impact of insecure attachment dimensions on pain behaviors in laboratory-induced pain. (Source: Journal of Psychosomatic Research)

Musculoskeletal pain in early adolescence: A longitudinal examination of pain prevalence and the role of peer-related stress, worry, and gender
Adolescence is a time of change during which several health problems, such as pain problems, increase. Psychosocial mechanisms involved in this development, such as interpersonal stressors and worry, are still understudied, especially longitudinally. The first aim of this study was to investigate the prevalence of musculoskeletal pain in Swedish adolescents between the ages 13 and 15 using pain grades. The second aim was to study the role of peer-related stress, worry, and gender in the development of musculoskeletal pain problems over time. (Source: Journal of Psychosomatic Research)
