Long-Term Bladder Outcomes Using A Prescriber Pattern Scoring System For Posterior Urethral Valves
Urinary drainage for posterior urethral valves can be achieved with valve ablation (VA) or diversion by vesicostomy (VES) or cutaneous ureterostomy (CU). The effect of these interventions on long-term bladder function remains debated, and voiding symptomatology after VES or CU reversal has been poorly characterized. Correspondence to the editorial comment for “Surgical and functional outcomes of Dorsal Inlay Graft urethroplasty in revision vs primary hypospadias repair in the pediatric age”
I read both the editorial commentary (1) and the article on “Surgical and functional outcomes of dorsal inlay graft urethroplasty in revision vs primary hypospadias repair in the pediatric age” (2). Although it has been stated that the strength of the article lies in the surgical descriptions and images, I would like to criticize and raise questions abou t the aims of hypospadias repair and grafting of the ventral surface of the glans and their relevance to normal anatomy. Comparison of the Efficiency of Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation and Manual Therapy in Children with Cerebral Palsy with Lower Urinary System Dysfunction- A Randomized Prospective Trial
Neurological defects in children with cerebral palsy (CP) not only affect their motor skills but also lead to bladder and bowel problems. Although most children with CP have achieved urinary control, more than 50% of cases experience lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS). Common LUTS complaints observed in CP include delayed toilet training, urinary incontinence, increased frequency of urination, urgency, urinary hesitancy, and recurrent urinary tract infections. Response to letter to the editor re: Can paediatric surgical registrars safely perform supervised hypospadias surgery?
Thank you to the author for their commentary to our paper [1]. We sought to provide a basis for further discussion on the yet little explored topic of trainee involvement in hypospadias repair. We wish to clarify first however, that we too believe hypospadias repair to be a technically demanding and complex procedure, deserving extensive training and close supervision of those learning the techniques. Change the game, not the players
I read with great interest the study on the results of pediatric surgery registrars performing supervised hypospadias surgery (1). The authors ’ statement in the introduction to their article does not match the results of their study. In a sense, they come to the conclusion that hypospadias repair is not a technically demanding operation and is not a complex procedure, but gives variable results both in the hands of experienced surgeons and in the hands of registrars. I can understand the wish of a registrar to be involved more in hypospadias surgery for faster acquisition of surgical skills. (Source: Journal of Pediatric Urology)

Utility of F-15 diuretic MAG3 renography in assessment of paediatric hydronephrosis
Diuretic renography is crucial in evaluation of paediatric hydronephrosis. Furosemide is conventionally given 15-20 minutes after radiolabelled tracer (F+15/F+20 protocol), however this is equivocal in around 15% of patients. Giving furosemide 15 minutes prior to tracer (F-15 MAG3 protocol) has been suggested as an additional tool in the investigation of patients with suspected upper urinary tract obstruction. However, the role of this method in assessment and management of paediatric hydronephrosis is not widely reported. (Source: Journal of Pediatric Urology)

Risk factors for mortality in children with hemorrhagic cystitis after hematopoietic transplant: Correspondence
We would like to share ideas on “Risk factors for mortality in children with hemorrhagic cystitis after hematopoietic transplant [1].” In order to identify patients with hematopoietic transplants and diseases related to hematuria, this study reviewed data from the Pediatric Health Information System database. The findings demo nstrated a statistically significant increased risk of death for patients undergoing genitourinary operations or bladder instillations. Furthermore, higher death rates were linked to variables such intravenous cidofovir, genitourinary morbidity, and dialysis. (Source: Journal of Pediatric Urology)

Response to Letter re “Risk factors for mortality in children with hemorrhagic cystitis after hematopoietic transplant”
Thank you for your comments regarding our manuscript evaluating risk factors for mortality in children with hemorrhagic cystitis (HC) after hematopoietic transplant. While the study is certainly somewhat limited due to the use of a single database, the Pediatric Health Information System (PHIS) is a reliable resource that collects patient information from a large number of pediatric hospitals around the United States, which supports the generalizability of our findings. As there were 811 patients who presented with HC across the 44 hospitals in the 7 year span, this averages out to approximately 3 patients per institution ...
