Urinary miRNAs as biomarkers for idiopathic osteonecrosis of femoral head: A multicentre study
ConclusionsThe levels of urinary miRNAs are valuable biomarkers for idiopathic ONFH. Given the noninvasive nature of this test, it is potentially useful for diagnosis and monitoring of idiopathic ONFH progression. (Source: Journal of Orthopaedic Translation)

Exploratory meta-analysis on dose-related efficacy and complications of rhBMP-2 in anterior cervical discectomy and fusion: 1,539,021 cases from 2003 to 2017 studies
ConclusionsrhBMP-2 chosen in ACDF offered not only higher fusion, but also higher complication rate with more dysphagia and wound infections than non-rhBMP-2. To gain the efficacy and safety, rhBMP-2 dosing recommendations for ACDF would be better <0.7 mg/ level. Moreover, rhBMP-2 may be an option to improve nonunion in high risk of multi-level ACDF. Biomechanical comparison of four tibial fixation techniques for meniscal root sutures in posterior medial meniscus root repair: A porcine study
This study investigated the fixation stability of four different tibial fixations for the meniscal root sutures. Twenty-four porcine tibiae with intact medial meniscus roots were randomly assigned into four groups: transosseous suture, washer, suture anchor or screw with washer. Each sample underwent cyclic loading followed by a load-to-failure test. The maximum average load and displacement at failure for each of the repair groups were as follows: transosseous suture, 232.8 N and 12.16 mm; washer, 189.9 N and 21.5 mm; suture anchor, 140.6 N and 13.8 mm and screw with washer, 167.9 N and 18.9 â...

Poly(ethylene glycol)-sheddable reduction-sensitive polyurethane micelles for triggered intracellular drug delivery for osteosarcoma treatment
ConclusionFindings from this study suggest that the SS-PU-SS-PEG micelles could achieve well-controlled triggered drug release in a reduction environment and could therefore improve the antitumor efficacy of osteosarcoma therapies.Translation potential of this articleIn this study we developed PEG-sheddable reduction-sensitive polyurethane micelles (SS-PU-SS-PEG), which were able to achieve well-controlled triggered release of anti-tumor drug Doxorubicin (DOX) in an intracellular reduction environment. DOX-loaded SS-PU-SS-PEG micelles markedly improved the antitumor efficacy in a Saos-2 cells-bearing xenograft tumor model....
