Degree of articular injury as measured by CT cross sectional area is associated with physical function following the treatment of bicondylar tibial plateau fractures
CONCLUSION: Our method for calculating articular surface disruption on CT is a simple, reproducible and accurate method for assessing the degree of articular damage in patients with bicondylar tibial plateau fractures. We found that the percentage of cross-sectional articular surface disruption correlates with patient reported outcomes and physical function.PMID:38126258 | DOI:10.1177/10225536231217148 (Source: Journal of Orthopaedic Surgery)

Olecranon fractures: A biomechanical comparison of three tension band wiring fixation methods on bone models
CONCLUSION: The use of screw(s) shows higher biomechanical stability than K-wires in the TBW method. Double-screws fixation gives similar results in terms of the biomechanical load to failure compared to a large intramedullary screw fixation. Both screw methods can be used as stable constructs in clinical practice.LEVEL OF EVIDENCE: III, biomechanical trial.PMID:38115708 | DOI:10.1177/10225536231223109 (Source: Journal of Orthopaedic Surgery)

Effect of different HA/ β-TCP coated 3D printed bioceramic scaffolds on repairing large bone defects in rabbits
CONCLUSION: 3:7 HA/β-TCP-coated porous bioceramics scaffolds are more conducive to the repair of large bone defects in rabbits. The results of this study can provide some reference and theoretical support in this area.PMID:38118163 | DOI:10.1177/10225536231222121 (Source: Journal of Orthopaedic Surgery)
