Application of ultrasound in preoperative localization diagnosis of checkrein deformity: A retrospective case series
CONCLUSION: The results of this study demonstrates that the checkrein deformities can be confirmed by ultrasound. It could be used to determine the adhesions before the operation, acting as guidance while establishing the surgical planning.PMID:37458778 | DOI:10.1177/10225536231189783 (Source: Journal of Orthopaedic Surgery)

Perspectives and trends for minimally invasive surgery for hallux valgus deformity in the Asia Pacific region
CONCLUSIONS: MIS hallux valgus surgery is gaining popularity in the Asia Pacific region, with the majority of surgeons adopting this practice. The fact that severe deformity is seen as the most frequent contraindication and that MIS surgery is still not the most popular alternative demonstrates that surgeons are still circumspect when it comes to MIS surgery. Surgeons can use the findings of this study to guide their adoption of MIS practices in hallux valgus surgery and gauge well they perform in comparison to their counterparts in the Asia Pacific region.PMID:37458528 | DOI:10.1177/10225536231180332 (Source: Journal of Orthopaedic Surgery)

Rotational ankle instability: A current concept review
J Orthop Surg (Hong Kong). 2023 May-Aug;31(2):10225536231182347. doi: 10.1177/10225536231182347.ABSTRACTAnkle sprains are extremely common. It is important to have a clear insight of the course of recovery after such injury to evaluate the effective strategies to guide management decisions, and understand the potential risk factors involved in the development of chronic problems and recurrent ankle sprains. When a prompt diagnosis is not formulated, ligament tears can remain untreated, and chronic ankle instability can result after acute lateral or medial ankle sprain. When the medial ligament complex (MLC), in particular ...
