Swedish obstetric thromboprophylaxis guideline: background and update
This article presents the latest update, the basis for the algorithm and its application for assessing moderate- to high obstetric VTE risk, defined as equal or greater absolute risk per time unit than the antepartum risk of women with one prior VTE. The risk score is based on risk factors conferring approximately fivefold increased risk of VTE or a multiple thereof. This article also presents algorithm efficacy data and describes lifestyle advice provided to patients. In our experience, the Swedish guideline for obstetric VTE risk estimation is easy to follow. It helps identify women at high risk. The risk of under- or ov...

Relationship between maternal ABO blood groups and pregnancy outcomes: a retrospective cohort study in Dongguan, China
J Obstet Gynaecol. 2023 Dec;43(2):2243508. doi: 10.1080/01443615.2023.2243508.ABSTRACTThe purpose of this study was to study the relationship between maternal ABO blood groups and pregnancy outcomes. A total of 29,658 couples in Dongguan were selected as the research subjects. We obtained data on ABO blood groups and pregnancy outcomes and explored the relationship between them through log binomial regression and survival analysis. Compared to mothers with type B blood, the RR of foetal stillbirth in mothers with type A blood was 2.87 (95% CI: 1.70, 4.85), and compared to mothers with type O blood, the RR was 1.72 (95% CI:...

Recurrent miscarriage and infertility: a national service evaluation
This study demonstrates that while care is largely in line with clinical practice guidelines, there is variation in counselling, imaging and surgical treatments offered. Areas for education identified included fertility counselling and resources for information provision and supportive care. Clinical outcomes were seldom audited. What are the implications of these findings for clinical practice and/or further research? Fertility care must expand to ensure access for women with RM and infertility. Further research exploring barriers and facilitators to the delivery of evidence-based care for women/couples with infertility an...

Radiotherapy for postoperative vaginal recurrences of cervical squamous cell carcinoma: analysis of dosing and prognosis
This study aimed to investigate the efficacy of salvage radiotherapy for vaginal recurrence of SCC in patients who previously underwent surgery and to explore prognostic factors associated with survival. Ninety-seven patients with histologically proven SCC who were treated for vaginal recurrence at Peking Union Medical College Hospital were identified. All patients had previously undergone surgery and received salvage radiotherapy. Factors predictive of overall survival (OS), progression-free survival (PFS), and local control (LC) were investigated. The median follow-up time was 42.5 months. The estimated 5-year OS, PFS, a...

Umbilical artery ultrasound haemodynamics  combined with serum adiponectin levels can aid in predicting adverse pregnancy outcomes in patients with severe pre-eclampsia
In conclusion, umbilical artery Doppler with serum adiponectin predicts adverse pregnancy outcomes in severe pre-eclampsia.Impact statementWhat is already known on this subject? Sad levels were lowered in sPE patients. UA ultrasound hemodynamic parameters can predict adverse pregnancy outcomes. What do the results of this study add? Our study revealed that ultrasonic hemodynamic indexes of UA combined with Sad levels had better efficacy in predicting pregnancy outcomes in patients with sPE, and our study is expected to improve the accuracy of clinical prediction of adverse outcomes in sPE patients. What are the implications ...
