Validation of the Canadian Institute for Health Information Diagnostic Codes for Benign Gynecologic Surgery
J Obstet Gynaecol Can. 2023 Dec 29:102343. doi: 10.1016/j.jogc.2023.102343. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTWe investigated the validity of ICD-10-CA diagnostic codes for surgery for benign gynecologic conditions in the CIHI-DAD, the main source of routinely-collected data in Canada. Safety and Efficiency Outcomes of Ambulatory Gynaecological Procedures in Canadian Surgical Centres Adopting a Common Model
CONCLUSION: In Canada, the majority of gynaecological procedures are performed under general anesthesia. By comparing outcomes at two separate Canadian centres, we demonstrated the reproducibility of a common ambulatory model for minor gynaecological procedures, supporting the implementation of similar care models across Canada.PMID:38159680 | DOI:10.1016/j.jogc.2023.102336 (Source: Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology Canada : JOGC)
