Information Needs and Preferences of Family Caregivers of Patients With Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis
CONCLUSION: Providing information through healthcare professionals and self-support groups could enhance family caregiver satisfaction. Family caregivers who are older and less educated need to be more empowered to be involved in information-based caring, and caregivers of patients with bulbar-onset ALS have substantial information needs. A Fast-Track Care by a Nursing Case Management Concept Improved Status Epilepticus Outcomes
This study aimed to develop and evaluate the SE fast-track care using a nursing case management concept on SE outcomes. METHODS Quasi-experimental study conducted in adult patients with SE admitted in 15 emergency and intensive critical/intermediate care wards. SE outcomes were evaluated and compared between preintervention and postintervention. RESULTS Time to treatment was reduced from 30 minutes to 3.5 minutes (P (Source: Journal of Neuroscience Nursing)

Psychosocial Sequelae of Stroke in Working-Age Adults: A Pilot Study
CONCLUSIONS It is feasible to recruit and retain young adult stroke survivors in a prospective study. Wide variability in scores across patients suggests different trajectories of recovery in the first 6 months after stroke. Neuroscience nurses can assess for these symptoms and provide individualized interventions to aid in self-management of burdensome symptoms. (Source: Journal of Neuroscience Nursing)

Assessing Motor Function in Congenital Muscular Dystrophy Patients Using Accelerometry
CONCLUSIONS In a controlled clinic setting, step count was significantly lower by ActiGraph GT3X than by manual step counting, possibly because of the abnormal gait in this population. Additional studies using triaxial assessment are needed to validate accelerometry measurement of activity intensity in individuals with CMD. Accelerometry outcomes may provide valuable measures and complement the 6-minute walk test in the assessment of treatment efficacy in CMD. (Source: Journal of Neuroscience Nursing)
