AbstractDuring active labor, a birthing person with cervical edema often has a dysfunctional or prolonged labor and, therefore, an increased risk for cesarean birth. Novel Shared Decision ‐Making Tool Improves Contraceptive Screening and Right Care during Pregnancy in a Military Hospital: A Quality Improvement Report
DiscussionResults demonstrated that contraception screening rates and right care improved with initiative interventions for servicewomen and nonservicewomen. A novel shared decision-making tool presented 18 contraception methods, risks and benefits, and tiered effectiveness that aided the majority of patients in a same-day decision with high patient satisfaction. Provider counseling was also simplified without delay in clinic time.
