The role of head and neck advanced practice radiation therapist in the revolutionising era of proton therapy
Radiotherapy has undergone significant advancements in the treatment of head and neck cancer (HNC), from 2D techniques to Intensity Modulated Radiotherapy (IMRT) and Image Guided Radiotherapy (IGRT). Proton beam therapy (PBT) is an emerging modality that offers improved dosimetric coverage and the potential for increased radiation dose in HN irradiation. Perspectives of key stakeholders on advance practice radiation therapist roles
Advanced practice radiation therapist (APRT) roles may be one approach to improve radiation oncology service delivery. An explanatory sequential mixed methods study mapped current literature on APRT, examined the patient journey, and explored opportunities for and perceptions toward APRT roles of professionals working in regional radiotherapy settings. This presentation reports on the findings of the qualitative phase of the study conducted in Tasmania. (Source: Journal of Medical Imaging and Radiation Sciences)

Sars and covid-19 in taiwan
This paper reviews the outbreaks of SARS and Covid-19 in Taiwan and their implications for public health and policy. SARS, a novel coronavirus that emerged in China in 2003, caused severe respiratory illness and spread rapidly across Asia, including Taiwan. Covid-19, another novel coronavirus that originated in China in 2019, posed a similar threat to Taiwan due to the high volume of cross-border travel. However, Taiwan learned from its experience with SARS and implemented timely and effective measures to contain the virus and protect its population. See the unseen: visualizing subscapularis “hidden lesions” in mri
In rotator cuff pathology, articular-sided subscapularis (SSc) tendon tears with intact rotator intervals are also known as "hidden lesions.". The area of attachment of the subscapularis tendon to the humeral head can be partially or completely obscured by the overlying biceps tendon and pulley structures. As a result, SSc tendon tears are often visually missed in shoulder arthroscopy. MRI offers a non-invasive method of visualizing SSc tendon tears.
