Esophageal bronchogenic cyst treated with submucosal tunneling endoscopic resection: two case reports
ConclusionEsophageal bronchogenic cysts are rare in clinical practice and lack specificity in clinical manifestations. Multiple methods can be used to determine the location and nature of the lesion and ultimately determine the treatment plan. Surgical resection and endoscopic treatment are two different treatment methods, and appropriate treatment plans need to be selected on the basis of the origin layer, size, and relationship with the esophagus of the lesion to reduce complications and improve prognosis. Antidiuretic hormone deficiency secondary to inactive hydrocephalus: a case report
ConclusionsCentral diabetes insipidus due to hydrocephalus, though rare, can have serious complications including the predilection to develop a deficit of other pituitary hormones. Thus, even if hydrocephalus is dormant with normal intracranial pressure, it must be addressed during investigations of central diabetes insipidus. (Source: Journal of Medical Case Reports)

Atypical lipoma of the right piriformis muscle: a case report and review of the literature
ConclusionDiagnosis and differential diagnosis of radicular pain are potentially challenging but necessary. Atypical lipoma is prone to be misdiagnosed, especially in rare sites. It is notable for clinicians to be aware of the presence of intrapiriformis lipoma to avoid misdiagnosis and inappropriate treatment. (Source: Journal of Medical Case Reports)

Post-radiation lichen planus: a  case report and review of the literature
ConclusionOnce more biopsy-proven cases of post-radiation lichen planus are reported, hopefully the exact mechanism can be elucidated. This may identify risk factors and aid in treatment, with the goal of limiting radiation toxicity and palliation of symptoms that may affect the quality of daily life. Post molar choriocarcinoma with solitary renal metastasis in the absence of primary uterine tumor: a case report and review of the literature
ConclusionsUrological symptoms such as hematuria or spontaneous renal hemorrhage might be the only presentation of post molar choriocarcinoma with renal involvement. Thus, it can be beneficial to measure serum beta human chorionic gonadotropin levels among females of childbearing age who present with unexplained urological symptoms, especially if there is a history of prior hydatiform mole. Plasmapheresis in thyrotoxicosis: a single-center case series
Discussion/conclusionThe standard management of thyrotoxicosis and thyroid storm was usually codified by the concomitant use of antithyroid medication, iodine, beta-blockers, and corticosteroids. This medical preparation can be effective in most cases. However, drug toxicity or ineffectiveness can limit the use of such therapeutics. Our paper supports the efficiency and safety of therapeutic plasma exchange in the preoperative management of thyrotoxicosis. (Source: Journal of Medical Case Reports)

Conventional herniorrhaphy followed by laparoscopic appendectomy for a variant of Amyand ’s hernia: a case report
ConclusionsUnlike the traditional definition of Amyand ’s hernia, where the appendix is initially in the hernia sac, the current case demonstrated that Amyand’s hernia could be a type of delayed presentation following initial medical treatment of acute appendicitis. However, it can still be managed successfully by a conventional tissue-based hernior rhaphy followed by laparoscopic appendectomy. (Source: Journal of Medical Case Reports)

Pancreaticopleural fistula causing pleural effusion: a case report and review of the  literature
ConclusionThe management of pancreaticopleural fistula demands a comprehensive and individualized approach. Recognition guided by high clinical suspicion coupled with appropriate investigations and a careful balance between medical, endoscopic, and surgical interventions is crucial for achieving favorable outcomes. This case report adds to the scientific literature by providing insights into the complexities of pancreaticopleural fistula and emphasizing the importance of personalized strategies in its management. Tetralogy of Fallot complicated by multiple cerebral abscesses in a child: a case report
ConclusionA comprehensive strategy involving medications, surgical drainage, and early neurosurgical consultation is vital in treating brain abscesses in uncorrected TOF. Early identification of the pathogen, appropriate antibiotic therapy, and vigilant follow-up through clinical assessments and imaging are crucial, potentially spanning a 4 –8-week treatment. Donepezil-induced bradycardia in a schizophrenic patient with comorbid neurocognitive disorder: a case report and review of the  literature
DiscussionConsidering there is no baseline cardiac monitoring requirement guideline for patients on Donepezil treatment, pre-assessment electrocardiogram is advised before the commencement of acetylcholinesterase inhibitors. Finally, routine monitoring of vital signs for at least the first 72  hours following the start of donepezil might be good proactive practice for all psychiatrists. Extending this practice to inpatient and outpatient service settings will be worthwhile. (Source: Journal of Medical Case Reports)
