Foveal cone loss in tamoxifen maculopathy: a case report
ConclusionThe area of cone loss was similar in size to a single newsprint letter when projected onto the retina, matching the patient ’s description of a scotoma in the left eye. Given the isolated loss of foveal cone photoreceptors with the absence of previously reported inner retinal and vascular changes, our results may indicate the earliest retinal changes associated with tamoxifen retinopathy. ConclusionManagement of each case of CEH must be carefully considered and tailored based on their symptom presentation and progression of disease. As the use of anticoagulation including factor Xa inhibitors becomes more prevalent, there is greater need to understand the detailed pathophysiological aspect of the injuries. Targeted reversal agents such as Prothrombin Concentrate can be used for conservative treatment. Adjunct test ing such as thromboelastogram can be used to help guide management. ConclusionNon-diabetic hypoglycemia is a rare illness characterized by low blood glucose levels in people who do not have diabetes. Patients with severe hypoglycemia may become unconscious or have seizures as a result of low blood sugar. Severe hypoglycemia is fatal and must be treated as soon as possible. Therefore, if non-diabetic hypoglycemia occurs, a thorough evaluation of the causes is essential, particularly any potential drug as a cause of hypoglycemia should be evaluated.
