Prediction of no ‐reflow and major adverse cardiovascular events with a new scoring system in STEMI patients
ConclusionThis new score, which can be calculated in STEMI patients before PCI and used to predict no‐reflow in STEMI patients, may help physicians to estimate the development of no‐reflow in the pre‐PCI period. (Source: Journal of Interventional Cardiology)

In ‐hospital outcomes in invasively managed acute myocardial infarction patients who receive morphine
ConclusionIn a large retrospective study, morphine was associated with larger infarct size, a longer hospital stay and a trend towards increased mortality in invasively managed NSTE‐ACS patients even after adjustment for clinical characteristics. (Source: Journal of Interventional Cardiology)

Outcomes of primary percutaneous coronary intervention in acute myocardial infarction due to unprotected left main thrombosis: The Asia ‐Pacific Left Main ST‐Elevation Registry (ASTER)
ConclusionsSTEMI from culprit unprotected left main coronary artery stenosis is associated with significant mortality and morbidity. Emergency PCI provides an important treatment option in this high‐risk group, but in‐hospital mortality remains high. (Source: Journal of Interventional Cardiology)

Imaging behind occluded areas with an iatrogenic perforated balloon: A safe, practical, and simple new method of visualizing the distal lumen in total occlusion
ConclusionThis new method we developed is much simpler and more useful than other methods for visualization of the true lumen because we can re‐orient the balloon at the time of opaque injection and use 190 cm guidewire without additional costs. Additionally, one balloon is sufficient for the operation. (Source: Journal of Interventional Cardiology)
