Polymer ‐free drug‐eluting stents for coronary artery disease
Polymer‐free drug‐eluting stents (PF‐DES) were designed with the expectation of avoiding late restenosis and thrombosis related to the polymer used in traditional DES platforms. Furthermore, due to similarities with bare metal stents after drug elution, PF‐DES has been considered as particularly suitable for patients at high bleeding risk. A variety of PF‐DES platforms have been clinically tested. Despite their theoretical advantages, PF platforms showed comparable clinical outcomes with modern permanent‐ or biodegradable polymer‐based DES up to 5 years after implantation. Use of more biocompatible polymers o...

Long ‐term outcomes of rotational atherectomy of underexpanded stents. A single center experience
ConclusionsRA of under expanded stents is a feasible option with a high rate of procedural success. At long‐term follow‐up, all of them were alive and 90.9% of patients remained free from MACE. (Source: Journal of Interventional Cardiology)

Short ‐term and long‐term clinical outcomes of rotational atherectomy in resistant chronic total occlusion
ConclusionThe treatment of RA is safe and feasible for resistant CTO lesions with heavy calcification. The short‐ and long‐term clinical outcomes of the treatment of RA were excellent and comparable with those not needing RA for CTO PCI. (Source: Journal of Interventional Cardiology)

Drug eluting stents are superior to bare metal stents to reduce clinical outcome and stent ‐related complications in CKD patients, a systematic review, meta‐analysis and network meta‐analysis
Conclusions:DES in CKD patients undergoing PCI were superior to BMS in reducing major adverse clinical events. This was possibly explained, by a lower risk of stent‐related events as ST and TVR or TLR. Second, compared to 1st generation DES may furtherly reduce clinical events. Balloon aortic valvuloplasty to improve candidacy of patients evaluated for transcatheter aortic valve replacement
ConclusionsWhen evaluating frailty measures post BAV, we saw no significant improvement in mean GS, however, we observed a significant improvement in non‐ambulatory patients and ADL scores. We also describe improved Class IV CHF symptoms. With this improved health status, the majority of patients underwent subsequent valve therapy, demonstrating that BAV may improve candidacy of patients for TAVR.
