Clinical and Radiographic Failure of Non-surgical Endodontic Treatment and Retreatment Using Single-cone Technique with Calcium Silicate-Based Sealers: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis
This systematic review and meta-analysis aimed to evaluate the clinical and radiographic failure of non-surgical endodontic treatment and retreatment for mature permanent teeth with or without apical periodontitis using the single-cone (SC) obturation technique with calcium silicate-based bio-ceramic (CSBC) sealers and to compare these failure rates to other sealer materials and obturation techniques. Prevalence of apical periodontitis in patients with autoimmune liver diseases under immune suppressants and immune modulators: a cross-sectional study.
Autoimmune liver diseases (ALDs) are chronic conditions generated by an immune-mediated auto-aggressive inflammatory reaction in genetically susceptible individuals. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the prevalence of AP in patients suffering from ALDs, in treatment with the immune-suppressants glucocorticoids, azathioprine, and/or ursodeoxycholic acid. Methods: The ALDs group included 46 patients (11 men and 35 women, average age: 57.9 ± 11.8 years) and 1186 teeth. The control (C) included 50 healthy patients (15 men and 35 women, average age: 58.6 ± 10.4 years) and 1251 teeth), under no medications. (Source: Jo...

Real-Time Three-dimensional Dynamic Navigation for Root Post Space Preparation in Root Canal-treated Teeth: an In vitro Study
The aim of this study was to investigate the feasibility of a real-time three-dimensional dynamic navigation system (3D-DNS) for root post space preparation (RPSP) in root canal-treated teeth and compares the accuracy and efficiency of 3D-DNS to freehand (FH) for RPSP. Effect of orthognathic surgery on pulp blood flow and pulp sensibility: A prospective control trial
Orthognathic surgery has the potential to compromise the vitality of the teeth. This paper aims to assess changes in pulp blood flow (PBF) and pulp sensibility (PS) of the anterior dentition following orthognathic surgery and to assess the influence of the proximity of the surgical osteotomy on the PBF and/or PS. Morphology of the physiological foramen: II. Maxillary and mandibular premolars
Information concerning the anatomy of the physiological foramen is still limited. The aim of this study was to investigate the distance between the physiological and anatomical apex, the shape and diameter of the physiological foramen in maxillary (Mx) and mandibular premolars (Mn). Further Interventions After Root Canal Treatment Are Most Common in Molars and Teeth Restored with Direct Restorations: A 10 –11-Year Follow-Up of the Adult Swedish Population
The aims were to investigate 1) the frequency of nonsurgical retreatment, root-end surgery, extraction, and further restorative treatment during a follow-up of 10 to 11 years after root filling and compare the frequencies according to tooth group and type of coronal restoration, and 2) the timing of nonsurgical retreatment, root-end surgery, and extraction. Systemic Corticosteroid Uses in Endodontics- Part 2: Enhancing the Success of Local Anesthesia
Chronic inflammation in irreversible pulpitis leads to heightened sensitivity of nociceptive receptors, resulting in persistent hyperalgesia. This poses significant challenges in achieving effective anesthesia for patients with irreversible pulpitis. Various anesthetic techniques and pharmacological approaches have been employed to enhance the success of local anesthesia. Recently, the preemptive use of anti-inflammatory agents, specifically corticosteroids, has gained attention and shown promising results in randomized controlled trials. Incidence of Middle Mesial Canals in Mandibular Molars during Root Canal Treatment and Nonsurgical Retreatment
Large-scale clinical studies on the incidence of middle mesial canals (MMCs) in nonsurgical root canal treatment (RCT) and retreatment of mandibular molars are lacking. The primary aim of this observational study was to determine the incidence of MMCs in mandibular first and second  molars that received RCT or nonsurgical retreatment (NSRetx). The secondary aim was to determine factors associated with incidence of MMCs. (Source: Journal of Endodontics)
